Hi guys, I have a set of customers who have purchased but not ok-ed the permission for me to send them emails in the campaign.

Is there a way to send an email asking them to subscribe via shopify or some other means? not sure which landing page or function to link to.

Any directions is much appreciated.

Hey, @Flflflfl1! Welcome to Shopify Community!

While the thought of sending newsletters to your entire customer list may seem like a sensible and effective idea, on the contrary, it is actually ineffective and it can cause damage to your business. Email marketing consent is crucial and necessary when sending promotional content via email. Legal repercussions may arise from sending newsletters to customers without them opting into receiving marketing emails from your store, so it's never a good idea to do so. Customers don't like the surprise of finding unsolicited emails in their inboxes too!

Instead of sending emails, you can utilize alternative methods to encourage visitors and customers to subscribe to your newsletter. Here's a list of ways for you to collect email addresses:

  1. Add a sign-up checkbox to your checkout
  2. Add a newsletter signup section to your online store
  3. Add an email pop-up to your store using apps

While you build your email list, you can take some time to also build an email marketing strategy. This marketing channel is a powerful way to convert sales when used strategically. Learn how to write captivating content and test different versions of an email. These and the other best practices discussed in this blog post will help you create a game plan that will capture customer interest.

Hello @flflflfl1,

Greetings! I am Gina from the flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $7Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

Sending subscription emails to non-subscribed customers directly in Shopify is not possible due to Shopify's terms of service. It is prohibited to send emails to customers who have not given explicit consent to receive them. Shopify strictly adheres to permission-based marketing practices.

To target potential customers who haven't subscribed, you can explore alternative marketing channels. Consider leveraging social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn, to engage with a wider audience and promote your products or services. Paid advertising campaigns can also be effective in reaching potential customers who haven't opted into your email list. By utilizing these channels, you can expand your reach and attract new customers without violating Shopify's terms of service or compromising customer privacy.

However, there are a few ways to encourage non-subscribed customers to sign up for your email list. Here are a few ideas.

-> Incorporate a Newsletter Signup Section

Integrate a dedicated section on your online store where customers can easily sign up for your newsletter. Place it prominently on your website, such as in the footer, sidebar, or header, to catch their attention and encourage subscriptions.

-> Utilize Email Pop-ups

Utilize applications or plugins that enable email pop-ups on your store. These pop-ups can appear at strategic moments during a customer's browsing experience, capturing their attention and prompting them to subscribe to your email list.

-> Implement a Signup Checkbox at Checkout

Enhance your checkout page by adding an optional checkbox that allows customers to opt-in to your email list during the purchase process. This method leverages the existing interest of customers who are already engaged with your products, increasing the chances of acquiring their email addresses.

I trust this will be of benefit to you.

Gina
