SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of advertising nicotine-free pouches through Google Ads, but I’ve encountered a challenge with the product category selection. Since there doesn’t seem to be an appropriate predefined category for nicotine-free products, I plan to submit my own using the product_type attribute.
I run a Shopify-based store and would love to get some guidance on how to best implement this solution. Can anyone provide insights or instructions on how to submit a custom product category correctly within the Google Ads platform, especially from a Shopify store perspective?
I want to ensure that the custom category is compliant with Google’s policies and helps reach the right audience effectively. Any advice or step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Could you please share the name of the person who helped you, or let me know how you resolved the issue? I’d appreciate details on the changes and implementations that were made.
The product type value is not a predefined value. It can be anything you want to choose. To learn more: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324406
The product category, you can leave empty and Google will auto assign a value.
