How to translate a Google Shopping feed into another language?

Hello, we're using the Google Shopping app to offer our store in one market (English), and we'd like to add another feed in another language. Has anyone done this? How is it done?

We currently have two domains for the site, and using the Langify app to translate, but I don't see how it's possible to translate the feed.

Anyone?

Reach out to the Langify support and ask if the translations are sent via metafields. If they are, you should be able to do this via https://apps.shopify.com/datafeedwatch

Thanks Joshua,

Langify has informed me that the translations are sent via metafields. Do you have any more info on using these with Datafeedwatch?

Hi!

My name is Shirley and I’m the Marketing Coordinator at a company called Dynamic Creative. We are the only Google Channel Partner in Australia to specialise in Google Adwords and Google Shopping for e-commerce websites.

We’ve created the only Google AdWords & Google Shopping patented technology in Australia and the U.S. that can automatically build an ad for every product on your site and update the price and availability on those ads hourly resulting in ads that are more relevant to people searching for your products on Google.

We are currently offering a free Google Shopping health check and would be able to assist you in your feed issue, as well as provide recommendations for your campaigns.

I'd love for one of our consultants to give you a call to better understand your situation! This is free and it'd be a great way to explore other marketing strategies that can help increase visitors and sales!

Shirley, please contribute to the post rather than pushing your own services.

Yes, all metafield information is accessible in DFW. It will take some tinkering to get right. I suggest you try it out. Their support is also really good in assisting you or you can get them to set it up completely.

Please note that as you are targeting different countries in Google Shopping that both alongside the language, you also need to have the same currency.

So if a customer in France, clicks on your ad in French and lands on your page, the product landing page needs to be both in French and the currency in Euro.

You can not use javascript to change the content or currency as this is called client side changes. With Google's validation bot, it checks server side, meaning hard coded content.

To advertise with different languages you have 2 options.

1) Submit the English feed to multiple target countries by adding the countries in Google Merchant > Products > Feeds > click on your feed > Settings > add country

2) Create a new subdomain with Shopify for the specific target country and make sure the language and currency is correct for that country, than submit the feed to Google merchant.

If you submit a data feed based on your current info, you will get suspended.

Hope it helps.

Hi is_death_the_en

Is just read your post from last year and we are in the same situation as you were. How did it go with Langify and Data Feed Watch? Were you able to connect them?

Hi Hi is_death_the_en, PerArne,

Same situation here. Would be wonderful if you could share any advice how to create a multi-language feed for merchant center via langify.
To be used on our leather suspenders store.

Thanks!

Hello,

I am the developer of Multiple Google Shopping Feeds app. The app works with Langify and other translator apps (LangShop, Translate My Store, Weglot, etc.) to provide translated feeds.

https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

The product URL is customized according to the selected language and currency.

Creating multiple feeds is possible with the app. Feeds for Facebook and other platforms are also supported too.

Hi Clovis,

Yes, the app does provide Facebook, Pinterest and Bing feeds too.

For Bing, please use XML format. For the others, both TSV and XML will do.

Hello,

Thanks for asking. The app does work with Weglot and we have quite a number of Weglot users. I checked your store and there seems to be some problem with the Weglot setup for German language. Your German product pages are not accessible as you can see in the video

https://share.getcloudapp.com/o0uP2QZp

You can also contact us via the chatbox inside the app admin page.

Hi,
Do your app support GTranslate using subdomains?
How does it works, multiple feeds or can use one feed with multiple Target (Countries/Languages)?
Thanks!

Hi @Fabio_Silva,

Yes, the app does support GTranslate with the language subdomains. The app works with GTranslate to get the translations for the feed content, and in the same time use the correct language subdomain for the product link so when customers click on ads, he arrive at the right language in store.

Each feed has one language and one currency. However with one feed you can target as many countries as you want. For example you can create a French/EUR feed and use it for France, Switzerland; an English/USD feed as use it for USA and Canada...

Best regards,
