There are multiple ways to verify your website with webmaster tool. After adding the URL to the GSC (Webmaster tool) you need to opt a method of verification. Here are the ways in which you can verify your website - 

- By adding an HTML page in your website's root folder on server. You can download the page from GSC and upload it on the website's root folder (Where your XML sitemap and robots.txt files reside)

- By adding a meta tag on the home page. GSC will provide a meta tag which you need to add in the header section of your home page.

- You can verify your website by Google Analytics accounts as well. Click on that method and its quite easy to verify if google analytics access is given on the id you are using for GSC. 

- Alternatively you can use GTM or domain provider method too.

Easiest way to verify is Google Analytics. Please specify the problem then I can suggest a specific solution. Hope it helps.
