I am seeing an error message on my Google Sales Channel and it says "Your domain is already claimed by a different account. We can transfer the domain claim, but this action can’t be undone.". The "Learn more" link somehow does not tell me the entire details of this error and scoured the internet for answers and found none.
I would like to know who triggered the claim for the domain and what will happen if I transfer it.

This is an accepted solution.
It is recommended you find the original account that you used. If you claim a second account, the chances are high that you will get suspended.
However, if you have no other option, then sure proceed. Just know the risks.
Only you can trigger the claim. Or anyone access to your website.
Check all your other email addresses, as it is best to use the original account you have setup, this to avoid potential suspensions. Considering Google only allows 1 account per merchant.
So is the best course of action to allow the claim? I need to fix the error so I can finish setting up the Google Sales Channel and fix the issues with the other products.

Hi. I am having this same issue. I have tried to set this up once before, but have since changed the domain name of my site. How / where do I find the original account?
thanks.
@Jdubb2838 The only method is to check your emails.
Hi all!
I'm in the process of setting up the Google/YouTube app in my Shopify sales channels. In "Your Google Merchant Center account", no pre-existing account was showing so I clicked Create. In fact I did have an account (I'm already using Google MyBusiness etc) but the website was not yet validated / claimed on the Merchant Center.
When creating Create, it said my domain was already claimed by a different account. Did that a couple of times before I realised I was going the wrong way. I then managed to access my pre-existing account, validated and claimed the domain. I also deleted / removed the accounts I created by mistake. Now it's all good on my Google Merchant Center, my account appears as a suggestion on Shopify, but when connecting it keeps saying it's already claimed by a different account. The "Transfer my domain" button doesn't help either.
Based on what I've read above I suppose my different attempts may have got my account suspended. Is that correct? If so, how do I unlock my account? Thank you so much 🙏
