Hey there!

Bo here from Shopify Support.

Thank you so much for reaching out again. I responded to your first forum post here and was just wondering if you had any trouble implementing anything that I went through? I understand that it can be really tough when starting out as there is so much to learn, and I know that I did give you a lot of information so if you need any clarity or further direction on any of the points made, please do let me know, I'm more than happy to help.

When promoting sales it is important to use scarcity and urgency to your advantage. If your store is constantly offering discounted prices it is not going to create any urgency, your customer won't see the need in buying right away as there is no end to the sale in sight. It is great to see that you are offering free shipping, but offering the free shipping for a limited time, as well as offering the discounts for a limited time would be much more effective in getting those first few sales. Take a look at our post on using urgency and scarcity to your advantage for more information on this.

I just thought I’d share some great links to help make those first sales:
12 tips to market through social media and increase sales.
50 ways to make your first sale.

Let me know how this goes and if there is anything else I can assist you with, I'm happy to help!

All the Best,
Bo

Thank you, im going to try it. I never thought about it like that. I guess I was thinking about impulse buyers who like great deals, but it would make more sense to add urgency. Also I plan to start a financing option for customers (Since I'm in the furniture business)
