SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
I need help with my online boutique. I’m unsure if my SEO and marketing strategies are doing anything.. I honestly don’t have any background in sales but would love if anyone has any advice on how where to get started. Thank you
Hi @Nesha81
It’s awesome that you’re diving into your online boutique. Don’t worry about not having a sales background, we’ll get you rolling with some simple, effective steps! For SEO, start by adding clear, keyword-rich product titles and descriptions like “Women’s Boho Maxi Dress” instead of just “Dress” to help Google find you; Shopify’s built-in SEO tools make this easy.
On marketing, try running a small Facebook or Instagram ad with a photo of your favorite product and a “Shop Now” link and target it to your ideal customers (like age or interests) and keep the budget low to test it out.
You could also post regularly on social media with behind-the-scenes pics or quick style tips to build a vibe people love.
Can I see your store to tailor this even more? I can't access the link you sent below.
Hello Nesha @Nesha81 Honestly, if you do have the resources I highly suggest that you hire a Shopify SEO expert on a platform like Upwork (so you ensure that you don’t get scammed or deal with any dubious persons). In the meantime, there are a lot great videos on YouTube that can put you on the right path with regards to the basics of SEO marketing.

Hey @Nesha81
It’s great that you're thinking about SEO and marketing for your boutique—getting visibility and traffic is one of the first hurdles for a store, conversion rate being the second!
When it comes to SEO & Google, you’ve got two paths: organic vs. paid.
🔹Google Shopping Ads (Paid) – These show up above search results in the shopping carousel, where high-intent buyers are looking. You can pay to get to the top by running Google Shopping campaigns. The official Google & YouTube App for Shopify makes setup easier—it helps connect your product feed, Merchant Center, and ad account so you can launch ads straight from Shopify. There are lots of other apps that also help with product feeds in the app store in the "product feed" category. Lots of these feed apps can also help automate/create product feeds for distributing product data to other platforms e.g. facebook, bing etc..
🔹Google SEO (Organic) – This is a longer game and can be quite time consuming. It’s about optimizing product pages, writing helpful blog content, and building backlinks to rank higher in search over time. Great for free traffic, but it takes patience and time.
If ads sound tricky (it can be very daunting without experience) or you don't have an upfront ad budget yet, some apps fund and run Google Shopping Ads for you and take a cut of sales instead. Rather than upfront cost-per-click (CPC) costs, this is known as cost-per-acquisition (CPA) or performance based advertising and is risk-free for you (the performance marketer takes on the ad spend risk).
Also, if you do have a budget, you could try testing a small campaign or bring in a PPC expert—but be wary of anyone guaranteeing results (Google’s auction system is unpredictable).
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions. 😊
Hi @Nesha81
It is great to know that you manage to get started from SEO and do something for marketing your website. As an SEO APP provider, I can share some advice here for your reference so that you can better know how to start.
1. Optimize page speed. I made a test of your website via Google PageSpeed Insights tool and noticed the speed scores on mobile and desktop are quite different. You get a higher score on desktop but a lower score on mobile, this means you need to pay attention to the page loading speed still in the way of optimizing website contents. You can check the speed scores report directly and I attach two screenshots as well below to better help you check it.
https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-thickythickfashion-com/0nt75na5eq?form_factor=desktop
2. On-Page SEO. To help you know better about page content situation, I searched your website in Google and found out the related search result is very vague and has no clear descriptions about products. This means users cannot know the highlights and popular products directly by searching. You can consider doing the page optimization by adding keywords in meta tags to let Google know better about your website and product details, and it can help users know better about your website as well.
3. Submit sitemap to Google. When you are ready to let Google crawl or index website pages, it is suggested to submit your store's sitemap in Google Search Console, so that Google will know where to start crawling your pages and know better of your store situations. This will help search engines like Google know your website structure as well. If you are unfamiliar with sitemap submitting, you can also check this guideline from Google Search Central to know more details.
In short, above advice is all the experience and feedback collected by our APP Team when handling different kinds of SEO issues from users. If you need further help about SEO, please consider installing SEOAnt and it can assist you to do all the advice I mentioned here like PageSpeed Optimization, On-Page SEO and sitemap submitting. Also, you can enjoy a 7-Day Free Trial and a 30% discount SEOAnt 30% Jeffery to get a better website performance, thank you!
I see that other users have already shared great strategies. Especially the analysis shared by SEOAnt-Jeffery and tips shared by AdamSturrock.
To add to what Jeffery said, your website is in good shape but it can improve further. Your product pages should include descriptions, features, as well as other benefits of using your products. Like which materials the dresses are made of, what’s the story behind your brand, and other important details. Also, try adding trust badges, like for free shipping, money-back guarantee, etc., on your product page. And of course, don’t forget to add keywords in your product titles, descriptions, etc.
To add to what Adam mentioned, yes, expanding to Google Shopping and other platforms can be beneficial for your store. On Google Shopping, Facebook, etc., there are no listing fees. So, you can sync and market your Shopify products on those marketplaces without incurring any costs. And for that, if you want to use an app, you can go with AdNabu. It’s a feed management app that provides accurate feed URLs not just for Google Shopping or Facebook but also for other marketplaces like TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.
So, you can easily expand your store’s presence across other leading marketplaces and grow your sales.
Hope this helps.

Hi @Nesha81 ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community! I'm Mia from MooseDesk , your go-to Live Chat, WhatsApp and FAQ App here to help you enhance your customer support experience 😍
Firstly, congratulations on your online boutique store. I know that running an online boutique is exciting but also challenging, especially when it comes to SEO and marketing. The good news? Fashion & apparel is a high-engagement niche, meaning with the right strategies, you can attract the right customers and turn them into loyal buyers.
Let’s break it down into a step-by-step approach, focusing on what works best for fashion boutiques:
Fashion is highly visual, so SEO for a boutique should focus on keywords + high-quality images + engaging content. Therefore, you should focus to optimize Your Product Pages
- Use Fashion Keywords – Think like your customer! Instead of just “Red Dress,” use "Elegant Red Cocktail Dress for Weddings" (longer keywords = better ranking).
- Write Engaging Product Descriptions – Don’t just list features; tell a story! Example: "This flowing maxi dress is perfect for summer vacations and sunset beach walks."
- Alt Text for Images – Google can’t “see” images, so add descriptive alt text (e.g., “Women’s pink floral maxi dress with ruffle sleeves”).
- Create Collection Pages – Organize products by trends, seasons, or occasions (e.g., "Fall Must-Haves," "Wedding Guest Outfits," "Everyday Casual Looks").
- Instagram Reels & TikTok Videos – Show how your clothes look in motion! Outfit try-ons, styling tips, or “how to wear it” videos perform great!
- Pinterest Boards – Fashion searches explode on Pinterest—create boards like "Minimalist Outfit Inspo" or "Date Night Looks" to drive traffic to your store.
- User-Generated Content (UGC) – Ask customers to tag your boutique in photos for free marketing! Repost their content as social proof.
If you don’t have a big budget for ads, micro-influencers (1K–10K followers) are a great way to get exposure & build trust.
- Find small fashion influencers on Instagram/TikTok and offer a gifted collaboration (send them a free outfit in exchange for a post).
- Use Influencer Discount Codes – Give them a unique 10% off code (e.g., "JANE10") to drive traffic back to your store.
📢Best Place to Find Micro-Influencers: Check hashtags like #SmallBrandLove #OOTD #BoutiqueStyle and DM creators who match your aesthetic.
📖Shopify Learn – Free courses on SEO & marketing
📖Google Digital Garage – SEO & digital marketing basics
