SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
Hi All,
I would really appreciate feedback on my store www.afterhrsuk.com and any reasons we are getting very low conversions 0.8% currently.
We have been open for two months and have conducted FB / Insta ad campaigns - promo videos etc etc but yet still conversion is low.
Is this a website issue / product issue or more that as a new brand it takes time for customers to buy in to you??
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
thanks
Jon

Hi @Afterhrsuk, Kate here from the PageFly Shopify Landing Page Builder App.
I can offer some general insights that might help improve your conversion rate:
Analytics
As you mentioned, it can take time for a new brand to establish itself and gain customer trust. Your FB/Insta ad campaigns are a good start, but you might need to consider additional marketing channels to reach a wider audience.
And you can Track Your Analytics: Use website analytics tools to track user behavior and identify any areas where users are dropping off in the conversion funnel. Some tracking tools that you can use are:
Store design
Based on my expertise in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), I'd like to propose several strategies to boost your conversion rates and increase customer traffic. Important areas to focus on are:
1. Make the important content more highlighted
It’s nice that you offer a discount for customers, However, the discount content is currently not very noticeable. Would you kindly consider making it more prominent, perhaps by changing its color? This would enhance visibility and ensure customers can easily take advantage of the offer.
To optimize the hero banner, I suggest considering an A/B test where we experiment with changing the color of one button. Currently, both buttons share the same color, which might not be optimal for engagement. By testing different color variations, we can determine which option resonates better with our audience and ultimately improves user interaction.

2. Product list section
I've noticed an issue with this section. To keep things professional, it's better to use a full image of the model's face instead of a cropped one. Also, consider making the display more appealing by adding hover images for the products.

3. Add a section to present more about your brand
Your homepage is like the front door to your online store—it's where visitors get their first impression. This page needs to grab attention and show what your brand is all about.
Although your current homepage does a good job of displaying your products, there's a chance to make it even better by strengthening the bond with your visitors.
You can add it between these sections:
4. Promotion section
For the promotion section tied to sales, adding a countdown timer can heighten the sense of urgency. This encourages customers to act quickly, enhancing the effectiveness of the promotion.
5. Transform Image Gallery Section section to a shoppable section
The video showcased in the Instagram section really appeals to me, and it's possible to turn this into a shoppable section with the help of some Instagram feed apps like VIBE or InstaFeed. It would be a good strategy to dedicate a specific section on your homepage to showcase these posts. By using apps like VIBE or InstaFeed, you can seamlessly integrate social media content into your online store.

I have visited your store but its UX is weird due to the poor color scheme. You won’t see anyone using a black background right at the top and header of the homepage.
Secondly, I don’t see any organic marketing approach in your campaigns. It is nearly impossible to do CRO with a single strategy. Use diverse options including Pinterest, SEO, and more.
ConvertMate can help you audit your store for free and optimize product pages. Improve your conversion rate with the help of this AI-powered marketing tool that offers many free options as well.
Generally there could be a variety of reasons. From a strict acquisition perspective, I would double check if your target audience and keywords are right. Is what you promoting and what you're showing in your store in-alignment?
If your traffic and audience intent match. I would look into on-page UX. The replies above do a great job of this but I would also explore apps that help with conversion.
I invite you to try Cartpinion - it's the only Shopify app that lets your customers get opinions from their friends directly from their shopping cart. A big reason why shoppers abandon carts is because they seek friend opinions and that journey is prone to abandonment. This app helps reduce abandons before they happen by keeping your store as part of the feedback collection process.
Give it a try, I think you'll find it helps reduce abandons.
