Any idea why I can't connect my IG shop? See attached screenshot. Thank you.

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

At the moment, the approval process is entirely handled by Instagram. We can only tell if a merchant has been approved, pending, or rejected. We are not provided with any information on why they reject stores. 

The error shown in the screenshot is referring you to this setup guide:

• Setting up Checkout on Instagram · Shopify Help Center - Ensure your store meets the conditions listed under "Important considerations".

It appears that you may be ineligible due to requirements not being met in the setup process listed in the guide above. Have you also checked the Facebook Commerce Policy thoroughly to ensure you are complying with everything? You can find a full list of the requirements here if you want to double-check them. All of these must be adhered to before Instagram will accept you.

If you are adamant your store complies, I believe the best way to contact Instagram is to go to your Settings in the mobile app, scroll down and tap Report a Problem. You can explain the situation on the following page and ask Instagram to review why you're not being accepted for Shopping.

While your store may be unavailable to use Instagram shopping, you can still use Instagram to promote your business and products. We have an amazing, and free, Shopify Learn Course which gives great advice about how to use Instagram for eCommerce. It goes into all the different ways you can use Instagram to create and engage an audience, so I definitely recommend checking it out. Instagram stories are also another great tool you can still make use of, and we have an excellent article outlining some best practices with it. There are also some app alternatives like InstaShop that can be used to connect your Instagram photo galleries to your store. This particular app does have a free plan, but you can upgrade to a paid plan for more features.
