I opened my store about 2 months ago and have not made any sales. I have tried to advertise and did notice some traffic coming in but no conversions. I have also posted on socials to assist with marketing and exposure but not getting much followers. I think the store looks decent since I have made several changes to improve it. So Im not sure whats the preventing from customers to making purchases. I need tips on how to improve my store and assistance with marketing to start to generate sales, thank you.

Hi Testsetclothing,

I had a quick look at your site and its functioning fine. I would suggest using a more modern theme re-designing the layout.

  • User Flow: Ensure that the site hierarchy supports logical user flows. Users should be able to move from one section to another seamlessly.
  • Consistency: Maintain consistency in navigation and design elements to make the site easy to understand and use.
  • Use Collection Pages to order the products logically.

Hi @testsetclothing,

I'm Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App.

Generally, I love your store’s design, it looks classic but professional. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:

1. Homepage

  • Redesign the pop-up

A general rule of thumb is that the most effective pop-ups for boosting conversion rates are either shown on a website after 15 seconds have passed or triggered by specific user actions or behaviors.

To enhance the conversion rates of your promotion, a great strategy is to present it when a visitor is about to leave the website, rather than displaying it right at the beginning of their session.

Exit offers occur when a website showcases a pop-up or promotional message as soon as a visitor moves their cursor towards the 'close' button in their browser or when they switch to a different tab.

These offers have been shown to retain approximately 10-15% of visitors who would otherwise exit the site, as they provide an incentive to stay or make a purchase.

  • Have a sticky header

If your website visitors are looking for a particular product while browsing, what's the usual action they would take? They might have to scroll all the way up to the page's top to find the search bar, which can be a bit of an inconvenience. However, this issue can be addressed by introducing a sticky header, significantly improving the ease of navigation for your customers

Another thing you might care about is that the header with the current logo might take significant space while scrolling with the logo above the navigation buttons. So I would like to suggest that you resize the logo and place the logo alongside the navigation buttons in the same row to save more space to showcase the products.

  • Change a hero banner at the top of the homepage

The banner is very significant in hero material. It is the first thing customers see when they visit your website. You should use the banner which lets consumers to know exactly what you're having in 5 seconds first.

Unfortunately, your current banner does not show exactly what you are selling. That’s why I would suggest you change it.

Alongside the visual elements, a hero section typically includes concise and impactful messaging. This can be a headline, a tagline, or a call to action that communicates the core value proposition, piques curiosity, or encourages visitors to take action.

For that reason, you should add content before the 2 CTA buttons.

  • Highlight sale campaign

In the section I captured below, the product sale badge could have been much more prominent if you use another background color for it.

  • Have a benefit section

Adding a benefit section in the middle of the homepage will give your customers a reason to purchase from you instead of the competition. This helps reduce the bounce rate and increase the likelihood of purchase. Like this:

2. Product page

  • Invest in product media

Have a media list under the main photo of your product to make it easier for your visitors to explore the visual

PageFlyGarcia_5-1716796114119.png

You should give customers as close to an “in-store” experience with the product as possible.

  • Large multi-angle, detailed photos
  • Model wearing your clothes and state size of model for reference
  • Video of product in use

As long as your customers can get a full view of your product, the more willing they are to make a purchase.

  • Color swatch

Product color swatches enhance conversion rate by reducing the number of clicks for customers to find the product they want. The shorter and easier a customer's path to the desired product is, the more likely they will make a purchase.

PageFlyGarcia_6-1716796114141.png

You should use color swatches to display different colors of the same product. In this way, your customers are able to compare them easily and make a decision

  • Move the size guide close to the size variant

This would be more convenient for your users when they want to choose a suitable size and make a purchase. The current position makes it easily overlooked and it’s not logical at all.

PageFlyGarcia_7-1716796114068.png

  • Add some spacing before the title “You might also like"

And that's my feedback! Hope it helps you boost the conversion rate.

Cheers!

The product demand and the right marketing strategy are required to generate sales for new stores. On the other hand, you should not rely on single or just paid strategies. Here are some ideas that can be helpful in long-term success.

1. Optimize Your Store for Search

Use relevant keywords in your product titles, descriptions, and meta content. Increase the page loading speed by optimizing the product images. Build high-quality links for your pages from high-authority websites.

2. Use Pinterest for Shopify Marketing

Pinterest is a free resource to generate traffic for your store. Create and publish high-quality pins around your products on relevant boards. Include product links in those pins. Follow standard Pinterest SEO practices to grow faster. You can integrate your Shopify store with your business profile.

3. Instagram Content Creation

Instagram is again good resource to promote your store for free. Create short informative videos and reels to grow your page. It is a recommended and practically proven strategy for the pet industry. Use your store link in the page bio to direct people towards your store.

It looks like your website is currently unavailable.

Besides the layout, and all the great advise given, I would also look at focusing on building your customer persona.

Leveraging tools to see where your audience hangs out, will also help you focus your promotion efforts more efficiently and convert visitors into customers.
