Is a loyalty program a good idea?

How effective are loyalty programs when it comes to shopping at an online shop that has many products within the same niche? Specifically, a loyalty program where a customer gets a discount code every time they share their purchase on instagram or tiktok.

Hi, @laserbeampq!

One of the best ways to build and maintain customer trust is simply, by thanking and rewarding them. Starting a loyalty program will enable your store to do just that, which is why I encourage businesses to incorporate loyalty programs as early as they can! This will allow you to grow your relationships with your existing customers, which is also key in increasing a positive customer experience.

With Shopify, you can install a third-party app to help you manage your loyalty program. There's a few of such apps on our App store, though I did a bit of digging and found some that you might be interested in. Feel free to take a closer look at them:

Please note however that these apps are made by third-party developers outside of Shopify, so if you do have any questions about them specifically I would recommend getting in touch with the app developers.

Rewarding customers who share their purchase on social media is a popular and effective way to not only incentivise customers, but also to spread brand awareness too. You can remind customers to do this by including a physical thank you note on your order, with a message to customers letting them know to tag you when they're posting their purchases on social media. In this way, you'd be able to follow up with them once they have posted, to give them their discount code or another reward system. If you need more tips on how you can setup your loyalty program, take a look at our Shopify Blog here.

Yes, It is a good idea but it should make sense and make sure you make a profit out of it.

Hey, @lucas05021!

Are you also looking to add a loyalty program to your store? You can look at my first reply for some loyalty program app examples, to help you manage your store’s loyalty program. There are other third-party apps here too, if you’d like to browse others on our Shopify App Store.

Is there any specific loyalty program strategies that you’re looking to implement to your store?

I liked your idea but not all stores may be inclined to embrace the concept offering cashback when you share the product link on Instagram or Tiktok. Many businesses opt for influencer marketing or referral programs since their ultimate goal is to drive sales.

However, if you truly desire to leverage a genuine loyalty program that eliminates the confusion caused by point-based systems and provides tangible benefits to your customers, I highly recommend checking out Fealty.

Fealty doesn't reward users for social media posts on platforms like Instagram or TikTok. Instead, it offers a distinct advantage that sets it apart from other apps: direct cashback or discounts on every purchase made.

You can choose to redeem the earned cashback on your next purchase or share it as a gift with your friends or family members.

One of the standout features of Fealty is its tiered program, which encourages shoppers to unlock new levels and enjoy higher percentages of cashback or discounts as they progress through the tiers.

You should give it a try. 🙂
