Is declining "Do Not Track" signals turned on by default on Shopify?

Hello,

I was writing my privacy policy earlier and used Shopify's "create template" as a starting point. I noticed there was a section that said the following:

Does this imply that stores created on Shopify reject DNT signals by default? If so, is there an option to turn it off or how would I be able to do so? I would like for "Do Not Track" signals to work as intended, on my website.

Thanks in advance

Hi @XOAppleton,

You are correct that Shopify rejects "Do Not Track" signals by default. As noted in Shopify's Privacy Policy, there is no option to turn it off because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

This is ridiculous, outrageous and immoral and you (Shopify) know it!

I hope the upcoming reforms in the US and EU stop this kind of disgusting behaviour for good.
