Is it possible for an online store to appear in local search results?

Hey guys,

I hope this is the right forum to ask.

So we recently carried out some market research on our potential customers shopping habits and it turns out that almost everyone searches for terms like, "local vegan candles" or something like that.

Given that we're an online store, we are presumably not going to show up if anyone in my town looks for local candle makers. Is there a way for us to appear as an online business in local search results?

Thanks.

Managing and keeping an updated Google My Business helps a lot.

If you can share your website URL, and your local location

I'll be able to identify the exact gaps

With the new Google business via maps listing, as long as you are providing
a REAL NON DIGITAL product, you are allowed to have a Google business
listing. Here is the catch: When Google does its verification, make sure
that the phone number used for the business is the only phone number. In
other words, If you have used a phone number once before for
another business, Google has not been giving the approval for verification.
That is what happened to us. I am just giving you a heads up.

Yes, i would advise you to add @LocalBusiness with the Schema Markup (JSON-LD), you can easily create the Schema Markup with Technicalseo.com/tools/ and then copy/paste it into your theme.

As you can see in the image, we've done this on the webpage Ramwerk.dk.

This helps Google connect your GMB with your webpage, however, if you haven't already, the first step would be to create a free Google My Business account/profile.

Hi,

Google Business Profile (GBP) will help you with the same. Only you need to optimize your Google local listing profile with the relevant keywords and to make it look authentic, add some product/services pic and video. Also, try to gain customer reviews.

Hi oliviamichaelco

I think you can take the following steps to get indexed in the local serp.
#1 claim your gmb/ google business profile, connect with your current website in your profile
#2 have 'local address' and physical store address and how to get there, with google map in your webste
#3 build backlinks with your targeted kw which has local kw
#4 add more 'local physical' related content/ words/ sentences to your shopify website

good luck

Yes, there is definitely an authentic way to come up on Google Maps for showing your business in your local town or in the local results.

Note: If you have your physical store or location, then this process can be helpful

- First of all, you have to create an account in Google My Business (GMB)
- Claim your business with the address (exact pin location on map) and fulfill the rest of the fields which will be helpful to the user.
- Once you verified your business with the code (you received from Google through the mail), you will start appearing on Google local results.
- Now you have to search out the popular queries related to your services and then optimize your store name according to those queries and you will have chances to get max impression and clicks after that optimization.
