Is it possible to notify customers when new products of a certain category are added to that categor

Is it possible to setup a notification system where in:

- I have Category "Event Admission"

- When a store adds something new to "Event Admission" category

- It notifies users that have prior given consent or interest in "Event Admission"

Notification can be by email, SMS, etc. but wondering if a tool or addon can do this

The use case is that we have users highly interested in new additions to some categories but not all
