Is partnering with another brand better than partnering with an influencer?

Wondering how other people think about this for their stores/brands. Has anyone partnered with another brand or are most brand partnerships with influencers and not other brands? What are the pros/cons?

Would greatly appreciate anyone sharing their thought process, knowledge or experience with this.
