We have connected our store with facebook but we are facing few issues:

1. We need to change the product catalogue but the facebook and instagram sales channel app is not letting us to this, every time it is creating a new catalogue.

2. The new catalogue that is created by facebook doesn't showing any information at shopify end. I have attached the image for the same.

I have not yet a case like yours so I asked ChatGPT. You can refer to the ideas below:

1. Issue: Cannot change product catalog

  • Option 1: Use the auto-created catalog.
    • If you prefer the catalog created by Shopify, ensure all products you want to sync are correctly added to the catalog from Shopify's end. Any changes must be made in Shopify, and they will reflect in the Facebook catalog automatically.
  • Option 2: Link to a pre-existing catalog.
    • Go to the Facebook Business Manager > Data Sources > Catalog.
    • Manually set up and connect your desired catalog to Shopify. Ensure you disconnect the auto-generated catalog first.

2. Issue: No catalog data visible in Shopify

Check Shopify settings:

  1. Go to Facebook & Instagram Sales Channel in Shopify.
  2. Verify if the products are correctly listed and published to the channel. Ensure no products are marked as “inactive” or “unavailable.”

Sync manually:

  1. In Facebook Business Manager, go to the Catalog section and check if the products are synced there.
  2. Re-sync the products by disconnecting and reconnecting the Facebook Sales Channel app in Shopify.

    - Permissions Check: Ensure the Facebook Business Manager account linked to your Shopify has appropriate permissions to manage the catalog.
    - Use Facebook Commerce Manager: Log in to Commerce Manager > Select the auto-created catalog > Verify product sync errors under Data Sources.

As I see, Shopify typically overwrites catalog settings with auto-sync. For full control, you might need a custom integration or third-party apps.

There are several tools that can help you do this, such as LitCommerce, Ecwid, Selro or CedCommerce. Among them, I am currently using LitCommerce and find it the best.

You can refer to those!!

Hi @JohnKyle Actually I have tried it but it is not helping, and didn't solve the issue, I am not sure why it is happening.

did you have faced this issue earlier?

Best Regards

Sahil

Hey there, I get where you're coming from. The sales channel sometimes creates that issue (I've been there and done that).

One thing I recommend doing (and which is super basic) is to re-add the Facebook pixel to your theme.liquid file. Ensure you place it in the <head></head> section.

Coming to the part where you want to change the product catalogue but the sales channel is not letting you to, you can try another way by using a Shopify app like AdNabu. It generates a unique data feed URL that only contains the latest version of your product catalogue. So even after you make changes to your product catalogue, it will automatically display the latest version of the product catalogue on Facebook.

Now, on the second half of the question, that's strange. It looks like a sync issue. Have you tried re-syncing your product catalogue? For uniformity, I still recommend trying the app so that these issues do not arise.

I hope this helps 😄
