Hi there,
I'm looking for a way to track link clicks on Shopify. On most websites I work on, clicking a link triggers an event. Using this event, I can set up a trigger to to fire a tag that will capture all the data I need (type of link click and destination). On Shopify, no event is triggered when I click links. I have turned on the relevant variables on Google Tag Manager and this has made no difference.
I am an experienced GTM and GA user. Because I have been unable to find an answer to this, I assume it will require some development work to fire the events.
Thanks,
Nick
@ZestardTech I saw you give an answer elsewhere that suggested you might know what's going wrong. Do you have any suggestions?
All click variables are turned on, but no click or link-click events fire in debug mode, and hence all the variables are returned as "undefined".
No, I've tried reaching out to multiple forums but not received a single response anywhere. Is this something that you're impacted by too?
Did you ever get an answer to this?
