Lots of visit, but no conversions or add to cart

Hi I have this store for about several months. Recently I do the Google Ads for a month, getting around 200 visits a day, and still increasing, but no conversion rate or even add to cart. I have tried the checking out process myself and it works fine. I really need someone to give me some advice on where the key problem is, thank you!

my store is: www.rftealife.com

Hi @GinnyMu,

From a quick look, there are no reviews published on your store. That's the number one validation that online shoppers are looking for - especially if your brand is relatively new.

You've to start collecting reviews online for your store. If anyone is talking about your store on social media, take screenshots of those and share them on your Instagram profile.

If you are not getting any add to carts at all, one possibility is  - your ads are not optimized and/or not targeting the right people to your store. Make sure your campaign is optimized and set up the right trust signals on your store to persuade new shoppers to buy from you.

I have one video that might be helpful:

Why do I get lots of clicks from Google Shopping ads but no sales?

Best of luck,

Thanks for your reply.
The performance was very bad before I did the Google Ads. And I published a
10-day discount few weeks ago but no conversions as the same. Hard to say
whether it’s all because of the price.

I love the look of your site, it seems to fit with your products perfectly (I am having problems with that). I think one major issue that you might be having is the price, there was a study that was published a few years ago that people start to question items that don't have a .99 cent price. I do see that you have a newsletter signup box when someone tries to leave, is it successfully collecting emails? Also, when you go over your analytics, does it say if your visits are coming from the US or Canada?

Hi @GinnyMu

I'm Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:

1. Reduce the height of the sticky header

It’s awesome when you have a sticky header. This will help customers navigate from every part of the homepage to any page of your store more conveniently.

Should the header be shortened in height, it will save more space to display the content below, especially on mobile devices.

2. Highlight the product title

The product title is not prominently displayed due to its tiny font size. Kindly increase the size of it to make it readable on laptop devices.

3. Keep styling consistent

A crucial element for an online store's homepage is the primary call-to-action button. This button serves as a direct link to the specific page where you want customers to take action, such as a collection or product page.

You’ve done a great job by putting the CTA button right where it should. But it's more important to maintain consistent styling for all call-to-action buttons to maximize the conversion rate.

Here are some examples:

#1 - The first letter of each text is capitalized.

#2 - The first letter of each text is capitalized.

#3 - There is no background or hover state for this button

4. Add spacing before “No dust, ever.”

Just a minor issue but when it’s fixed, I bet your store outlook becomes more professional.

5. Testimonials - customer reviews

This section will help you build customers' trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add photos of your customers / the product they purchased to evoke the buy action.

6. Promote in holiday season

As the holiday season approaches, and with many businesses already gearing up for festivities like Black Friday Cyber Monday (BFCM) and Halloween, let's take a look at these expert insights to further enhance your holiday preparations.

  • Holiday-themed landing pages: Create dedicated landing pages for specific holiday promotions or events. These pages can highlight exclusive deals and provide a cohesive holiday experience for visitors.
  • Countdown timers: Use countdown timers for limited-time offers or flash sales to create a sense of urgency and drive conversions.
  • Holiday specials and offers: Offer exclusive holiday promotions, discounts, or special deals to entice customers. Highlight these offers prominently on your website to catch the attention of potential buyers.

And that's my feedback! Hope it helps you boost the conversion rate.

Cheers!

Dear @GinnyMu

First thing first, I think it's important to clarify that Google ads or any ad platforms deliver ads according to the conditions you choose and how your target audience engages with your ads.

This means that Google ads need sufficient data to understand how to display your ad effectively. This period, during which the algorithm learns and adapts, is known as the algorithmic learning period. So, Google may be still learning your ad campaign and target audience.

In the meantime, you should closely monitor and constantly optimize your ads. Here are some ideas:

  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify relevant and high-intent keywords related to your products (herbal tea). Use a mix of broad match, phrase match, and exact match keywords to target different segments of your audience. Also, try using negative keywords to prevent your ads from appearing in irrelevant search queries.
  • Structure your ad groups based on themes like tea flavors, health benefits, or customer demographics. This allows you to create highly relevant ads and landing pages for each group.
  • Experiment with different bidding strategies based on your campaign goals
  • Optimize your ad landing pages (I'll talk a bit about your landing page below)

Another possible reason for your low conversion is that your product pages aren't trustworthy enough. You have one or two text-based reviews on some of your product pages. But this isn't enough to build trust with your customers.

It seems that you are using Judge.me, right? Then, try their review templates with images and their AliExpress Review Importer to import more reviews to your store.

And lastly, consider offering your customers some sweet incentives like first time discount, free shipping, free gifts, etc. if applicable.

I hope that this helps!

If I were you, I would focus on a few key areas to try to improve your conversion rate:

Make sure your ads are highly relevant to your target audience. Use keywords that are closely related to your product, and make sure your ads are clear and easy to understand.

Make sure your landing page is highly relevant to your ads. If your ads are about a specific product, make sure your landing page is about that same product. Don't send people to your homepage.

Make sure your website is easy to use and navigate.
