Re: Make Blog Posts Visible on Google

Make Blog Posts Visible on Google

I published some posts back in March, but they haven't shown up in Google search results yet. While my main blog page is visible, I want each individual post to be searchable on Google. I use the Impulse theme and have contacted support, but I haven’t received a clear solution. How can I resolve this issue?

Hi,

You can add your blog post and sitemap at Google search console. It will help.

To elaborate, there is no guarantee when and how to get your blog page listed on Google. Typically it could take 3-6 months or longer.

However, there are ways to speed up the process via Google's official search console. You can access and set it up here --> https://search.google.com/search-console

(Note: You would require access to your domain name DNS)

Once you have set it up, there are 2 things you can do:

1. Submit your sitemap

You can find detailed instruction from Shopify here -> https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/seo/find-site-map

2. Request Google to index each of your new URL

  • Everytime you have published a new blog post or page that you wish to be indexed on Google, go to Search Console and click on URL inspection.
  • Copy and paste the new page / blog post URL and click "Request for index"

Hope this helps.

Hello @Teacherjeanell

  • Use Google Search Console to see if your posts are even indexed by Google. You can submit them for indexing manually if they aren't already. Google Search Console
  • Each post should have a unique and relevant title tag and meta description that accurately reflects the content. These are crucial for search engines to understand your posts and improve searchability.
  • Link to your new posts from your main blog page and other relevant posts on your site. This helps distribute "link juice" and signals their importance to search engines.
  • Use FREE Shopify SEO App for better website optimization.

Troubleshooting Impulse Theme:

  • Double-check your Impulse theme settings. Some themes have options to disable indexing for individual posts or entire sections. Ensure your posts are set to be indexed.
  • Check for any available theme updates. Outdated themes can sometimes cause indexing issues. Update to the latest version if necessary.
  • While your initial contact with Impulse theme support wasn't helpful, try reaching out again with more specific details. Explain that your posts aren't being indexed and ask if there are any known theme-related indexing issues.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure your blog posts offer valuable and informative content relevant to your target audience. Google prioritizes high-quality content in search results.
  • It can take weeks or even months for new content to be fully indexed by Google and appear in search results. Be patient and continue creating valuable content.
  • Submit your website's sitemap to Google Search Console. This helps search engines discover your new posts more quickly.
