Rather than waiting hours for an automation email to go through, is there a way to send through a manual abandoned cart email? Ive tried creating a blank email from scratch but there's no option to add the section 'abandoned cart' anywhere, is this at all possible as orders could be placed on a longer wait time if order is not finalized within a certain time frame.

You can send customers a personalized email message by opening their order # & clicking their email address. You could also try something like mailchimp or other mailing services that have integrations with Shopify. The integration might allow you to add recommended products from your store but not 100% on that one.

Shopify gives you the ability to set the time frame of when the abandoned cart email gets sent out.
