Manually Adding Opt-Ins

Hi! I've been working on my site for about 6 months and decided it was just to many different integrations, bits and pieces with Woocommerce, so I decided to move to Shopify (be decision I ever made!).

While set up on Woocommerce, I had a coming soon page, which allowed me to collect the names and addresses of people who wanted to be alerted when I launch. Now that I'm over here at Shopify, I want to make sure that I don't lose those people. I'd rather not ask them to opt-in again, so I would like to manually add them to the "Customer" section where the Shopify opt-ins go.

I want to make sure when I do that, it doesn't send them another email advising them that they've opted-in. That would cause a bit of confusion being that they already signed up.

So, I was wanting to know, if I manually add them, will it send them an email?

Hey, @StylishBeaute

When you import or add a customer into your Shopify store, an email is not sent to the customer. However, if you have the 'double-opt in' setting toggled from within your notification settings, it would prompt them to confirm:

Feel free to check out our guide on importing customer lists for a quick and easy way to get your list over from WooCommerce over to your new Shopify store.  If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
