Marketing Automations - not working (error messages)

I would like to create some marketing automations for my shopify site (www.cloverlandhome). 

I'm on the desktop version and I have tested a few, but they are all coming back with an "unable to create automation". Tried with the same results to edit or to turn on. 

Here are the automations that I would like to create. Suggestions to fix this would be welcome. Thanks in advance. 

• Abandoned cart emails (not sure if this is possible if the customer is just browsing and haven't put their email addresses in, but it's an option on the shopify admin page so I am asking)
• Abandoned checkout emails
• Welcome new subscriber
• Welcome email series (both)
• Post-purchase thank you
• Post purchase upsell

Hmm, it's strange that you're getting an "unable to create automation" error. I know that Shopify's marketing automation feature is still in beta, so there could be some glitches. I would recommend contacting Shopify support to see if they can help you troubleshoot the issue. As for your automations, I think all of them are possible with Shopify's automation feature, with the exception of the abandoned cart emails if the customer hasn't entered their email address. But the rest of your automations are definitely possible! Have you tried creating any automations in the past that worked successfully?

Based on your automation needs, I think you should consider using a more advanced Shopify email marketing app, as Shopify's built-in automation is limited.

For instance, you cannot create an email series with Shopify's native automation. Also, it's not possible to create a welcome new subscriber email, post-purchase thank you, or upsell either.

I guess I’m a little confused because every option I listed is shown by Shopify in their marketing automations list. It just doesn’t work.
