Need Help With FB Ads Audiences.

Hi, I launched a Shopify store a few weeks ago. Have gotten a few add to carts, but no sales just yet. I'm selling merchandise (t-shirts, notebooks, and coloring books to start with). So far, most of my traffic has been from Instagram influencers. I'm pretty new to the whole idea of e-commerce and Internet marketing.

I'm having difficulty getting people to click on my FB ads. I've heard cases of people earning six  figures from selling t-shirts and other merchandise via FB ads. I'm aware that they don't start out this way, and I'm aware that it isn't easy. That's why I feel like I need some guidance in this arena.

I haven't figured out how to get consistently high numbers of visitors and sales. I need to find the RIGHT traffic to come, buy, sign up to my e-mail list, etc every day.

Any advice? If anyone's willing to coach me on marketing this website, that'd be very much appreciated. If you're good at PPC ads, I could seriously use your help. Thanks!

Hi Arvy,

Congratulations on the launch of your shop! Facebook Ads can be a marketers best friend, if you approach them correctly. As a new shop owner, you are certainly asking the right questions. It’s true, it can take a little bit of time to allow your Facebook ads to gain steam. However, I’d like to share with you some tips to help you expedite the process.

Figure out your target demographic

One of the most important aspects of advertising on Facebook is knowing exactly who it is you are trying to sell to. Often times, this is easier said than done. It can be a huge waste of time and money if your ads are being seen by the wrong people. Nailing down your target market is the first step in effective Facebook marketing. If the wrong audience is viewing your ads, it is highly unlikely you will make successful conversions.

Create ads that appeal to your audience

Once you become familiar with your target audience, you need to create dynamic ads that appeal directly to them. Don’t make the mistake of adopting a “set it and forget it” mentality when it comes to your ads. As the user above mentioned, always be experimenting! This is especially great advice for when you draft your ads. Experiment with different images, layouts, and CTA’s to figure out what works best for your audience.

Enlist some help!

As a new shop owner, it can seem a little overwhelming to figure all of this out on your own - we’ve all been there! I’d like to recommend one of Shopify’s awesome machine learning apps called Pollen (https://apps.shopify.com/poln) to point you in the right direction. Pollen specializes in making sure your ads are being seen by the right people. Their app enables you to acquire customers on Facebook and across the web simply and cost effectively. Through powerful automation, Pollen offers an easy-to-use marketing platform that’s sole expertise is in driving sales.

Hopefully this helps a little bit! Good luck to you and your shop. Happy Marketing!

Google ads are great than FB ads if you do them right. What have you tried so far?

I appreciate the replies, guys! I didn't reply for a while because I lost my eCommerce University account. Anyhow, I've now decided to hire a PPC ads virtual assistant, focusing on Google AdWords and Facebook ads. It's just time-consuming as hell to set these up and monitor them.

We'll see how that goes.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I lost my eCommerce University password, so that's why I hadn't replied for a while.

Anyhow, I've decided to find a PPC ads virtual assistant/freelancer. I feel that PPC ads aren't my forte and that I'm making the success of this site too dependent on myself. So, I'm now searching for a PPC ads specialist

People who make 6-figures from Facebook ads are also spending 6-figures funding them.

Instagram is my thing. I usually use it to give free tips and tricks. Or any sort of value I can.

I follow a philosophy that if I give people value (something they can’t find anywhere else on the internet for free) they will psychologically “owe” me something.

It’s human nature to say thank you

Instead of going from Ad to buy now, try using ad to get followers. Then entertain your followers. And then eventually try to sell to followers.

Easier to sell to followers than it is to sell to strangers.

I’m not  a PPC expert. I’m a social media marketer and Instagram specialist. In my opinion, social media marketing and content marketing wins over any other type of advertising. Just my thoughts ❤️

Great thread!

Digital marketing can be an overwhelming world. One of our newest account managers knew very little about Facebook ads, Adwords, etc. before she started working here.

Now she’s a digital marketing rock star! She actually wrote an article about her first year working at an agency. Some super helpful lessons learned you might appreciate: https://bit.ly/2HINSNA

Hope that’s helpful.

Hey, Alicia Morrison

Google ads may be better than FB ads but they are costly compared to Facebook ads.

and you can easily target the audience on FB compared to Google because people don't use google too much but they use FB without fail!
