SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
I have an adult toy store and am struggling with sales. Only 3, which have all been in the last month. I was hoping thise sales were the kickstart but it doesn't seem so. I just started google ads recently, clicks no sales. Social media accounts no followers really, but I have 130 some on fb. I have a blog but have been so busy trying to get store in order everything else has been on the backburner. What can I do, I have made several improvements, have hired people for seo, which I know takes time. But I cant afford that route anymore especially with no results. and am working on learning these things myself. I just want to at least break even from the costs of running the store.

Do you have good knowledge of Google Ads? have an idea of negative keywords in Google ads? Learn about setting negative keywords before you set another Google ads. It will surely help you. Do check and let me know if you found it helpful 🙂
No Followers issue: People generally don't follow such accounts. no doubt they purchase such toys but don't like to reveal such things. So it may be the reason for No or less followers.
Hey there, Deniece.
Bo here from Shopify Support!
I'm sorry to hear that you have been struggling to make sales on your store. Rest assured there are some steps we can take to improve on this for you. I wanted to share this awesome store. Similarly to your store, this store sells high-quality adult toys and would have come across some of the same possible difficulties with online advertising. I would highly recommend checking out how Shawna utilizes her blog to project her brand's voice. I understand that you have been super busy lately, and I know how difficult it can be to consistently produce high-quality content but it really does help with conversions, creating repeat visitors and SEO in general. I did this really awesome free course from HubSpot which covers everything you need to know about content marketing.
If you take a look at their social media also you will see how they use their Instagram stories and highlights to show off new products and connect with customers. While advertising and posting may be limited with Instagram, that is not to say that it isn't a tool that you can utilize when done creatively. Take a look at their Instagram and how they use stories, highlights, and hashtags to garner a bigger audience.
I wanted to share this guide on marketing with Twitter. Twitter can be a really powerful tool when used correctly. With Twitter, there is absolutely no censorship so you are free to post any kind of content that you like which really opens your options.
As far as social media marketing channels go, Instagram has been a major power player for a while. And that's particularly true for e-commerce businesses who get access to a visual-focused platform with enthusiastic followers and high engagement.
Amy Landino goes through the essentials of a launch here. When it comes to having a presence on any social network it is really important to know the purpose of you being there in the first place. Is it a place to show your customers a "behind the scenes" view of your business? Is it to engage with customers and pique their interest? Or perhaps you just want to promote your products. Once you have that figured out you can proceed in gathering the images that you want to show. It is recommended that when launching an Instagram for a business that you have at least 9 images to go. When a user lands on an Instagram account they want to have content to view, and because Instagram shows your posts in a grid, having 9 images is the perfect starting point. Amy has another great video on getting started with Instagram Marketing which you can check out here.
We also have some guides on getting your first sales so I just thought I’d share some of these with you:
Wonderful looking store, by the way, Deniece. I can see that a lot of work has gone into the SEO of the page, your descriptions are very well written and should definitely help you rank higher in Google. The images you are using are brilliant, high quality, and clear. They are, however, missing their alt descriptions. Luckily adding an alt description is super easy to do and can be done so as outlined in this doc which can be found in our help center the home of all our help docs!
Adding alt descriptions helps you rank better in Google because it is telling Google what your images are and so your products can show up in Google image searches. Having the descriptions there also makes your site more accessible for anyone with any kind of visual impairment as their screen readers can read what the image is for them. So while making your page that bit more accessible you are also improving your SEO. Here is a great guide to writing truly effective alt descriptions for your product images.
Your store has so much potential. Let me know how this goes and if there is anything else I can assist you with, I'm happy to help!
All the Best,
Bo

Just a little, I'm taking a course now, and my 1st campaign was a 'test' of my knowledge. I'm working on SEO now, but I know it takes a while.
Thanks, your reply has been really helpful. I'm gonna go through the resources you provided and take a look at the other store's use of social media. You've been a great help, thanks a lot!!!
