Hello. I just launched my new store and now need ways to drive traffic to it. Are there recommended apps I can use that would help?

This is a supplement store, and I have run into issues with social media outlets approving my ads. Any help would be great.

@hardrocprime Hello! To drive traffic to your supplement store, consider using apps like SEO Booster for optimizing your store's search visibility, Privy for email marketing and pop-ups, and PushOwl for web push notifications. Since social media ad approval can be tricky with supplements, focusing on organic traffic through SEO and engaging content could be effective. Also, try Affiliatly for affiliate marketing to get more exposure. Hope this helps!

Hi @hardrocprime

To drive traffic to your new supplement store, you can use SEO apps specifically designed for Shopify. One highly recommended app is Yoast SEO for Shopify. This app helps you set up your store in the best possible way for getting traffic with SEO. It also includes SEO and readability analyses to make your content both SEO-friendly and reader-friendly.

Additionally, you can explore other SEO apps available on Shopify. These apps come in various types, some focusing on specific aspects like image optimization, while others offer multiple features in one app. Many of these apps also offer free trials, so you can test them out to see which one fits your needs.

Your store design is nice, branding looks good, looks like good products, Ashwaganda is great!

I've owned a few Shopify stores and worked on hundreds of others. For new stores, I generally go for the strategy of building up an organic traffic plan while sending paid traffic to get traction, and finding ways to maximize the value on that traffic (referrals, email collection, cross selling, conversion rate optimization).

Google Ads typically perform better than social media ads, I would start with setting up Google Shopping and running some ads. If you want help setting that up, I recommend FeedArmy.

Then set up an affiliate program (I like Refersion and Referral Candy). You'll be able to do things like:

- Automatically include referral incentives to customers after they purchase (share with a friend for a future discount)

- Invite content creators to your program, getting people to write blog posts or include you in recommendations in their content

- Develop partnerships. I like to send a free product to influencers in my target niche. All you need is 1 sale to break even if your margin is 50% (for other margins just do the math but it's usually worth it if the account that is promoting you is legit).

Collect emails, that will usually be your highest converting channel long term. Some ways to collect emails:

- Offer a 10% discount on first order for new visitors to your site

- A good email software app will help you collect emails, plus will save data points and help set up automated remarketing flows. I like Klaviyo.

Optimizing SEO is great but that's long term. If you want to get started on that, you can combine with paid traffic. For example, write some blog posts that show how to solve the problem your audience is facing, and include your products as the solution. Then run some ads directly to that blog post. You get the immediate benefit of traffic to post, and the long term benefit of building up content, traffic, engagement, resources, that will help your SEO long term.

I would promote more that your supplements are made in America and USDA organic, put that big front and center, and include in your marketing.

I would put Our Mission at the start of the About page, it's more powerful than the text blocks. Get that connection first with the strong point, then people will be more apt to read through the text.

Good luck

Your products are a great candidate for cross selling / bundling. There's a beta feature with Product Automator, an app I helped create that can help you to add certain products easily when on another page, show a discount bundle, etc. PM me if you want more info. I used to run a store for 7 years and now build automation apps based on things I wish existed.

Here are some more tips I gathered: 7 Shopify Automation Tips to Level Up Your Store.

HI Hardcroprime,

I did some research for you and found that most advertising platforms: google ads, google shopping, tik tok and meta have very strict rules when it comes to advertising testorone supplements (anabolic steroids). However, there are certain products in your shop for which you can run ads. Eg - Omega 3 Vitamins, Ashwaganda, etc are allowed. But ensure you have all regulations in place.

  • Create Separate Product Feeds: Separate your compliant products (like Omega-3 and Ashwagandha) from those that are not allowed (like anabolic steroids or prescription medications). This allows you to submit only the allowed products to Google Shopping.
  • Exclude Non-Compliant Products: When creating your product feed or uploading it to Google Merchant Center, ensure that you exclude any products that violate Google’s policies.

You will have to individually research each social media platform's advertising policies for each product in your shop.

Your other options include organic marketing, this includes:

  • SEO Optimization for your website - Since you are just starting out, I recommend targeting low volume and difficulty keywords. Subscribe to Ahrefs if possible, it's a game changer! You can use SEO for content marketing efforts as well (writing blogs). Your best bet with SEO optimization is having your products rank organically and driving sales.
  • Social media posts - As much as possible, post on social media and share the posts in relevant groups.
  • Facebook Marketplace - I am not entirely sure about this one, but you can try your luck with Facebook Marketplace to sell your products there (if you got approved by Shopify, then I don't think you should have an issue with Facebook Marketplace)
  • TikTok Shop - You can once  again try your luck here (you can connect your Shopify to TikTok btw)

Let me know if you need more info on product feeds, I can help.
