No option to put in Facebook pixel ID

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me..

I’m trying to link my Facebook pixel to my Shopify store. When I go onto online store > preferences > Facebook > there is no option for me to input the pixel ID? It only has options for me to connect my Facebook account to ad manager and business manager which doesn’t connect properly anyway. 
No one else seems to have this issue online and it’s so frustrating, I’ve spend a whole day trying to figure it out 😞 would really appreciate if someone could help me!

hi,

are you able to see the " customer tracking" option when u goto preferences-set up facebook?

u will be able to fix this issue with that option

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’m struggling to even set up my Facebook account. I have my personal Facebook, then my business page and then I have my business Instagram which I think is linked to the business Facebook page. At the moment I can’t select the customer tracking option yet.

yeah then problem is with ur facebook business account. set up that properly. u will be able to fix this issue. its really easy. dont worry

u need to make one business account, ad manager,facebook page for ur store, then facebook pixel for that ad manager. u can see all these things on ur business manager if u have done that , this way u can make sure if u have done everything properly or not. you can contact me anytime if u need any assistance

I'm still having no luck 😞 I feel like my facebook page is set up properly? I've removed the pixel that was on ad manager and have deleted the facebook sales channel from shopify to try and do it all again but still get the same issue, when I try to connect ad account on shopify (with my personal fb) it comes up with this message "This personal ad account couldn’t be connected because you never ran ads with this ad account. You need to create a new ad account inside the connected Business Manager or use a different one." and then on facebook business, when I try to enter my ad account ID, it says "There aren't any ad accounts that match the ID that you've entered. Check that you've entered the ad account ID correctly and try again." 

Is there away to just completely start from scratch? I'm so confused and feel like I'm not getting anywhere

Hi,

I used to see a text field box next to the "Facebook Pixel" under online store/Preferences, where Facebook guide is saying I should enter my FB pixel.

However I don't see that text field any more, instead I see a button to "setup facebook" (see below), which is taking me through a process which feels like duplicating what I've done in FB ad manager.

Has the way to enter FB pixel in shopify changed? If so, how do I enter the pixel id in shopify without going through the process of setting up facebook in shopify?

Hi There!

 

OMG I totally feel your pain. I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of days now and it seems I am going around in circles doing the same thing over and over.  Have you figured out why it shows "set up facebook" and not allow us to enter in the FB pixel ID?

Hey!

So I did get it sorted, my pixel is connected but it’s not the usual way. I was never able to enter my pixel into the bar, but I can’t remember how I did it 😅 I’m going to check and get back to you

No worries!! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I was able to connect with a Shopify expert late last night. My problem now is removing the previous pixels and starting HB fresh. Apparently I had created two but felt like I kept going in circles for days.

I had the same problem as you guys, but found a solution myself. Here I share it for those who need help.

The reason why there is no facebook pixel bar is because your store address does not match your current location.

Solution:
Settings→Store details→Billing information
Modify your billing address (Legal Business Name does not need to be modified). For example, if you are in California, USA, then write your billing address in California and save it. Now you go back to Online Store→Preferences, Facebook Pixel ID will be available.
