Not able to post or create ad for Facebook from shopify marketing

Hello!

Until recently we were able to create product carousal post for facebook from our marketing - social post tab in shopify, but suddenly we are not able create facebook posts or ads directly from our shopify marketing tab, even though our ad account and pixel are connected and products are synced.  The facebook post and ads option as vanished from our marketing  social posts campaings tab. We get an message as follows

"Your Facebook channels has been updated to a new version managed by Meta. As a result your campaigns have been disconnected. Continue to manage and track them directly on Facebook"

Anyone face the same issue? How to fix this?

Hi @Sreemalola, yes everyone is experiencing this.

Meta and Shopify recently announced that they were changing how this works. Your connection to Meta still works but you now need to go into Facebook Ads Manager to creat and manage ads. 

If you've not done this before there are some tips here from Shopify.

If you're still not able to get this sorted let us know.

HI Brendan, this seems counterproductive. I do not want ads on facebook. i just want posts on my business page. for my products on my shopify website and not for anything to do with facebook shop. this seems very forceful and restrictive seeing as my business sells medical related products not permitted on facebook shop.

Hi @Opticvision, the original question was why @Sreemalola was no longer able to create posts or ads for Facebook directly within Shopify. Meta have removed that functionality and now you need to log into your Facebook Ads Manager (for ads) or onto you Facebook Page (for posts). So you can still do what you want to, but just not from Shopify. I agree it is frustrating as there's now an extra step for us to take to create and manage ads and posts.

We have to send this feedback to Facebook the more people complain instead of just dealing and being quiet we can build the communication with them and bridge these gaps.

Yes it is gone but what is even more fustrating is because I posted on this forums I now get 5 marketers a day hitting me with same pitches and I dont like it at all and I will not be when I want help I seek it

Also looking for a solution to this as posting from Facebook directly takes away from businesses connecting specific product to be clicked on for shop now abilities. Posting to Facebook manually is not simplified as what we were used to. You cannot tag product, so it links directly to website. If I see an actual solution, I will be sure to come back here and post. I knew when I read ads was the least of your worries as we all know this can still be achieved directly at Facebook which has always been the better approach in my opinion but the post creation as we know it is gone. This is Facebook way to monetize us as well. We have TikTok and other platforms that make money off ads. Someone in Facebook felt it was great to take it away and force us to pay for ad instead of being able to advertise ourselves. My question is have your sales decreased just a bit since change? If so, I suggest you give that feedback to Facebook as well.
