Hello everyone, I run a store that sells products for home and like home gadgets and accessories. ComfyHomeFinds.com. I was wondering what the best ways to organically advertise a store that sells these products were in terms of social media. Like which platforms would be best for products that maybe target people who like buying things for their home. I would also love to know what the best ways to grow organically on these platforms were, for example like on instagram how would I gain more followers like posting schedules who to follow etc. And other social medias like youtube shorts, tiktok and pinterest. I would love if someone could help me with the best times to post for these platforms and best ways to grow. Bonus question would be if I were to do paid advertising, what would be the best way to go about advertising and best ads to run for these platforms. Thank you so much!

Hi @ComfyHomeFinds

I'm Garcia, a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) expert at PageFly Page Builder. It's fantastic to be here!

As you know, attracting organic traffic through social media and search engines is vital for any new store, especially one selling exciting home gadgets and accessories. I wanted to share some recommendations that may help you grow your business.

1. Choosing the Right Platforms:

  • Instagram & Pinterest: These platforms are highly visual, making them perfect for showcasing your home gadgets and accessories. People use them for inspiration and discovery, aligning perfectly with your target audience.
  • YouTube Shorts & TikTok: Short-form video content is exploding in popularity. These platforms are a great way to showcase your gadgets in action and create engaging tutorials or life hacks.

2. Growing Your Audience Organically:

2.1. General Strategies:

  • Post Regularly: Start with 2-3 times a week across your chosen platforms. Aiming for daily posts fosters brand awareness.
  • High-Quality Content is King: Invest in eye-catching photos and videos. Good lighting and professional product photography go a long way.
  • Engage with Your Community: Respond to comments, answer questions, and participate in relevant conversations. Build relationships with your audience!
  • Run Contests & Giveaways: Generate excitement and attract new followers with fun contests and giveaways.

2.2. Platform Specific Strategies:

2.2.1. Instagram:

  • Hashtag Magic: Use relevant hashtags (e.g., #homegadgets, #smarthome, #comfyliving) to help people find your amazing products.
  • Stories that Sell: Utilize Instagram Stories for behind-the-scenes glimpses, product demos, and interactive polls.
  • Influencer Collaborations: Partner with home decor influencers or bloggers for product reviews or co-hosted giveaways.

2.2.2. Pinterest:

  • Boards: Create different boards showcasing various product categories or lifestyle themes.
  • Rich Pins: Use rich pins to include product information and pricing directly on your pins.
  • Group Boards: Join relevant group boards to expand your reach.

2.2.3. YouTube Shorts & TikTok:

  • Short & Engaging Videos: Keep it under 60 seconds and focus on showcasing the functionality and benefits of your gadgets.
  • Trending Sounds & Challenges: Participate in trending challenges or use popular sounds to increase discoverability.
  • Calls to Action: Encourage viewers to visit your website or follow your main social media page.

2.2.4. Additional Tips:

  • Short & Sweet Videos: Keep it under 60 seconds and focus on showcasing the functionality and benefits of your gadgets in a fun and engaging way.
  • Trending on Top: Participate in trending challenges or use popular sounds to increase discoverability and reach a wider audience.
  • Calls to Action: Encourage viewers to visit your website or follow your main social media page.

Bonus Tip: Consider offering a discount code for followers who find you on social media.

3. Turning Social Media Buzz into Sales:

Once you've attracted visitors from social media, it's crucial to convert them into happy customers. Here are some CRO tips to optimize your Shopify store design for maximum conversions:

GENERAL

  • Favicon: Add a favicon (the small icon displayed next to your store name in the browser tab) for better brand recognition.

  • Mobile Speed Matters: Optimize your store's loading speed, especially for mobile devices. People expect a fast and smooth experience.

HOMEPAGE

  • Testimonials with Impact: Use real-life images of customers using your products alongside their testimonials. This builds trust and social proof.
  • Highlight Benefits with a "Benefit Bar": Clearly showcase your store's unique selling points (USPs) with a dedicated section on your homepage.

  • USPs Front & Center: Don't be shy! Highlight your product's unique selling points throughout the product description.

@ComfyHomeFinds Thank you for your message. Here are a few tips that might help you gain views and followers on Instagram and TikTok:

  1. Invest in Video Quality: Make sure your videos are high-quality and visually appealing.
  2. Consistent Posting: Posting videos almost daily and putting real effort into your content is crucial.
  3. Collaborate with KOLs: If you want to speed up the process, consider collaborating with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to have them mention your product in their videos.
  4. Website Optimization: I also noticed that your website doesn't quite highlight your products effectively. Improving your website’s design and presentation could help in attracting more attention.

Hope it helps!

Hi @ComfyHomeFinds

If you are new, I still recommend running ad campaigns first to gain your initial traffic and followers. This is because organic channels take time to show results, (typically between 3 to 6 months or more).

For paid ad campaigns, I'd suggest trying Google search ads and other popular social ad platforms like TikTok (you can partner with KOLs/micro-influencers in the home deco niche), Facebook & Instagram ads.

To answer your questions regarding organic channels:

  1. Some countries have more popular social media platforms than others. Experiment with Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts to see which gets the highest engagement.
  2. Posting times can vary depending on your country and target audience's browsing behavior. So, again, experiment with different posting times and monitor your engagement analytics

But you'll have to acquire enough followers first for valuable insights (ideally, at least 1,000 followers on each platform). That's why, initially, you'd have to invest in paid campaigns if you get started with no branding yet.

I hope that this helps!

Btw, I just take a look at your website, and here are some of my suggestions:

1. Add a favicon to your website. Right now, your site's favicon is the default globe icon, which can appear untrustworthy to your customers

2. You display lots of reviews for each product, but I don't see any reviews. Instead, all I see is the star and the number of reviews. So, I'd suggest displaying real reviews on your product pages. If you're dropshipping from AliExpress, Ali Reviews can be a great tool to do so.

3. You're using stock images for the "Customer testimonies" section. I'd recommend using real pictures from your customers instead.

4. Your product descriptions for some products are too long, and some products don't even have descriptions. Hence, I suggest making them consistent by writing concise, scannable product descriptions for all your products (list under bullet points).

5. Your store only has ten products and they are kind of different product types with different background images. So, it might look like a dropshipping store. Hence, I'd recommend adding more products + add collection pages to categorize your products and work on making all the product images have the same background (same color, same style, etc.)

There are still many things to work on. So, keep customizing your website along the way, and if you can afford it, I think you should hire a Shopify expert to help with revamping your website's UI-UX.
