Hi there,

Good day!

I would like to ask for Pinterest Sales Channel availability.

My store address is in Brunei Darussalam, is it not available or just shopify does not support pinterest anymore..

Thank you for your response..

As of October 16, 2018, Pinterest no longer supports Buyable Pins. The Pinterest sales channel isn't available to add from the Sales channels list. If you're already using the Pinterest sales channel, then Pinterest converts your existing Buyable Pins into Product Pins. You can continue to sync your products with Pinterest using the Pinterest sales channel, and they appear on Pinterest as Product Pins. Source

You can make Pinterest pin then drive visitor from your store.

According to this other forum post you can't integrate Pinterest with Shopify at all anymore, how is this possible?

https://community.shopify.com/c/Shopify-Discussion/Missing-Pinterest-Sales-Channel/td-p/445165/page/...

Pinterest is arguably the most important social media platform for eCommerce. How can Shopify stop supporting this without any alternative... sites that were signed up before still work but no new sites can integrate the sales channel? This is a very clear reason to avoid Shopify and use another eCommerce platform like Woo-commerce, etc. Someone please tell me I'm wrong because this is unbelievable to me.

It is very strange, shopify seem to be making some very very strange and silly decisions lately and losing vision.

1. removing mailchimp integration

2. removing pinterest sales channel

3. removing image editor for quick product edits

Isnt a company supposed to be moving forwards and adding function and usability. Shopify seems to be moving backwards in 2019... why??

Mailchimp is for chumps, shopify did you a favor getting rid of it!

Pinterest is a unicorn - once again - there were no viable sales there - the company is a joke. Read up on what the Marketing experts have to say, like Scott Galloway a professor at NYU- he's a straight shooter. Pinterest is going down!

You have no idea what you are talking about. You sound like a stockbroker trying to short a stock. We have a Pinterest account with 3 million monthly viewers and do 90% of our sales through Pinterest, and you are telling me to just forget about it. How about not trolling this forum post, just because you don't like Pinterest doesn't mean nobody else should have the option to use it. If you don't have something constructive to say just don't say anything... any real marketer will tell you not to miss any opportunity for more sales.

For anyone looking for ideas on what to do without the sales channel, try Tailwind to help automate/reuse your posts, check out PinPinterest for additional functions like follow/unfollow, these are both off-page solutions but they can be really effective, see pinterest.com/CostumeIdeas11 for an example of how far that can take you.

Pinterest is the least important social media platform. IT's all smoke and mirrors over there. You aren't missing out on anything. Just wait until it all falls apart. And it will. Please read up about it. It's overvalued. It is a unicorn

Why? this is a backwards negative decision. Also why have you got rid of the image editor, its very frustrating the mentality of shopify in 2019, dont turn into another company that has gotten popular, making revenue and then decides to not give a %$#& anymore about what the users actually need.

Pinterest converted existing customers' previously purchased Pins into Product Pins. You can sync your products with Pinterest on sales channels, they appear as Product Pins

I completely feel your pain here! Was really frustrated going round in circles on the Shopify Help Centre- they mention that buy-able pins are no longer available but not that the sales channel isn't! I wasted a lot of time on it before being informed by the Support Chat.

I hope others also complain about the misleading information and also about the lack of integration between Pinterest and Shopify. Being able to create rich pins is such a basic requirement and it seems this is no longer possible (please correct me if I'm wrong!). It's going to have a real impact on people finding our pins in a Pinterest search.
