Products approved in Google but showing as Pending in Shopify

We installed the Shopify 'Google Shopping' app about a month ago, set up a Merchant Centre account, created a feed, etc. Products duly showed up in Merchant Centre as Pending and then moved to Approved after a few days. All good. However if we open the Google Shopping app from within Shopify, the products show up as 'Pending'.

 

I have tried removing products on the Shopify side, i.e. making them unavailable on that channel - they duly disappear from Merchant Centre - and then re-enabling them - they duly re-appear in Merchant Centre as Approved. But they're still marked as Pending on the Shopify side.

 

Anyone seen this before? Any ideas? Should I delete the app and start again?

That does sound a little strange, and thank you for pointing this out. Usually once the products have been approved from within your Google Merchant Center account, they should then also show with an approved status within your Shopify admin too.

 

I'd like to have a closer look into this with you - we may need to issue a re-sync from our side here to help push this change through.

I have sent you an email to verify your details, so that we can have a look to check on this with you. Do please reply to me - with the requested info - when you you can.

My products at google merchant center are approved from the 7th March and they are still "PENDING" in shopify google shopping app. Have you fixed yours already? I am sure this is again shopify fault!

If your products are pending approval in Google Merchant Center, contact their support. They're suppose to be approved in 3 days if everything is right, however, for whatever reason, products can be pending indefinitely until a manual review done. Google's form is here.

@arkitasurat I know our team was aware of a sync delay here in the past, thank you for joining in here to let me know there has been a new instance of this. I have sent you an email so that we can check on this for you.

For those whose products are marked as 'Approved' in Google Merchant Center but appear as 'Pending' in the Shopify admin, do please let me know if this is still the case for you/ your clients and I can reach out to you directly also.

What is the reason of the product getting disapproved ? Is the product counterfeit product?

I can help you out in this. If you can tell me the reason. email me the screenshots of your shopify store and i would need read only access of your google ads account and merchant center account. OR if you can do a screenshare via - anydesk it could be great

We have this happen with the odd client. The item will show as pending in Google Shopping app but be approved and show up in Google Merchant Center. We have not found a way to not have this happen from time to time. As long as the items are showing up in your Google Merchant Center as approved, then you can run your shopping campaigns and all is good. Don't delete and start again, as long as your GTIN and other information is correct.... you are doing fine.

 

Not sure if this is a Google Shopping app or an issue more with Shopify itself but we figure if it's in Google Merchant Center then that is all that matters in the end. Could just be a weird sync bug. It's one of those Google Shopping app/Shopify issues... but there are things we wish this app did to make running campaigns easier. Download your feed from the app would be great and even being able to sort & filter custom labels to bulk edit them at scale.

Thanks Duane. I agree, not really a problem as long as Google Shopping is working. I guess I was concerned that it might be indicative of some underlying disconnect between the Shopify API/feed and Google, which might impact product updates or additions later. For the moment though, removing and re-adding products seems to work, so I guess the API is functional.

You are welcome. It's a tech bug for sure and it's not ideal. It's random which products it happens to. Our clients have added more SKUs and those are fine usually. It's all very random. Good luck on the new store. You are in for an exciting 2019.

Have you tried to delete the cache to your cellphone? If not, please download Clean Master. Let this app delete all caches, cookies and junk files.

Hi,

My products are in pending status for more than a month I have called Google and they say all fine with them but in Shopify Google app product status are showing pending for many days. I am not able to sell products and just paying to Shopify. Could you have a look as soon as possible?
