Promotion on the cheapest item

Hello !

I would like to offer a 30% discount on the 2nd item purchased (as in a classic shop). I would like to apply this discount to the cheapest item. Is it possible to do this? Or is there a free application that does it?

Elias here with Shopify Support. That’s a great question.

You can set up a Buy X Get Y by using the automatic discount, where Y receives 30% off. Automatic discount will automatically apply the discount towards the lowest price item. To do this, you will want to make sure that ‘Customer buys’ and ‘Customer gets’ have the same products or collections specified in both of the fields. Here’s an example from my test store:

With this setup, customers can add the products in any order and the system will apply the discount to the lowest priced item. Here's what the cart page looks like from my test store:

I just don't understand why this solution works with a minimum of 2 products, and minimum of 3 doesn't works

I get it. It's 2 + 1 and not 3 with 1 included
