Query Regarding Payment for COD Shipment Orders

I am reaching out to understand the payment process for Cash on Delivery (COD) orders. Specifically, how do we (the store owner) receive payments for COD shipments, and how are we paid our margin through the bank?

Could you please guide us on the steps or process for receiving these payments?

Here are the steps to receive Payments for COD Shipments :

1. Set Up COD on Shopify:
- First things first, go to your Shopify admin settings and turn on the Cash on Delivery option. This allows customers to choose COD at checkout.

2. Customer Places an Order:

- When a customer buys something and picks COD, you’ll get a notification about the order, just like any regular Shopify order.

3. Prepare the Shipment and give to Courier/ Shipment party:
- Once the order is packed, hand it over to your delivery service. Let them know it’s a COD order, so they can collect cash when they deliver.

4. Courier Delivers and Collects:
- The courier takes the package to your customer, hands it over, and collects the cash payment. Easy enough!

5. Courier Handles the Cash:
- After collecting the cash, the courier keeps it until they settle up with you. This usually happens daily or weekly, depending on their policy.

6. Receive Your Payment:
- The courier will transfer your share (after deducting any fees) to your bank account. 

7. Check Your Bank statment regularly:
- Regularly check your bank statements to confirm you received your payment.

- Choose a good courier: It pays to pick a reliable service that handles COD smoothly.
- Know the fees: Be aware of any fees the courier takes so you can know your actual earnings.
