refund inactive months

Hello! So I wanted to test run a shopify site but me and my brother created it together using my credit card but mostly under his management. He forgot to cancel the trial after some months of inactive use and I was wondering if I could have a refund..? With this economy, I am not doing so well right now so I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Hi there, @minseodavid!

 

Shopify is a subscription service, billed every 30 days by default rather than by your use of Shopify.

 

As such, we would not be able to refund subscription time that has already elapsed and been billed for.

 

If you're able to close down your store yourself, we can check to see if we can refund the most recent of your subscription invoices based on when this was billed.

I've already canceled it recently, but I saw that other people were getting refunds for inactive months so I was hoping that it would be applicable in my situation also..

If you have already closed your store down successfully then your next step would be to reach out for account support via our Help Centre here.

 

There we'll be able to look at the specifics of your account and see if a refund request can be granted in the circumstances.
