Seeking Advice: Starting Paid Ads

Hey, I'm Luca and I run www.printune.shop where we sell print-on-demand music posters.

I have been thinking to run ads because right now I'm doing influencer marketing but the sales are quite low.

I have done paid TikTok ads before but they didn't do too well I am not too sure why.

Now I have different creatives and I want to try again to see if I get any more sales.

Can I have advice on:

-Is my products good enough to run ads?

-Is my store the best it could be for conversions?

-What would be the best platform on which to run ads?

-how do you run the cheapest possible ads for the highest conversion?

-What setting should I use for my ads (e.g. interests/income/languages)

- Are my ad creatives good enough for maximum sales? (I can attach them to a reply on your message)

- How many ads should I run?

-Any other advice that could help me out

@Luca_scalzo Hey Luca! Your posters have great potential for ads. Facebook and Instagram are strong platforms, and TikTok could work too with engaging content. Start with a low budget and test a few ad variations focused on music interests.

Hi Luca,

To figure out what campaigns are working and what are not, other than what Searchaly suggested below, I would suggest running a post-purchase survey to find out where your paying customers saw you. I have attached a sample survey below. If you have specific influencers you work with, then make sure to include their names in the survey. This will help guide you in terms of where you should be putting the most of your budget.

Hope this helps!

Hey there @Luca_scalzo , this is Alexis from Akohub's Marketing team 🙂

After reviewing your store, here's our thoughts on areas of improvement:

  1. Your product is definitely suitable for ads, especially given the popularity of music-themed home decor. The vibrant, iconic poster designs make them visually engaging and likely to catch attention on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

  2. Your store looks clean, but here are a few tips:

    • Include social proof (like customer reviews). You can integrate Judge.me
    • Simplify the checkout process and emphasize any unique selling points (e.g., eco-friendly prints, fast shipping)
    • Include a loyalty program to keep your customers engaged. You can use Ako Marketing
  3. Try running ads on Instagram, Google or Facebook, as these platforms are image-focused and cater to your target demographic.

  4. There's no easy way to do this, but in general:

    • Start with low daily budgets and test multiple ad creatives.
    • Utilize retargeting ads for those who visit your site but don’t purchase.
    • Use Lookalike Audiences to reach new potential customers based on your current buyers.

To optimize your ads and get the best value you can use Ako Retargeting. Their app can help you to identify what creatives and campaigns work best for your store based on your store traffic, profile, and experiences.

5. Ad Settings:

  • Interests: Target music lovers, home decor enthusiasts, and specific artists featured in your posters.
  • Demographics: Aim for ages 18-35, a common demographic for music and decor products.
  • Languages: Target English-speaking countries or specific regions if you have data on strong-performing areas.

6. If you’d like, share your ad creatives here, and I’ll be happy to give feedback! 😊

7. You can try AB testing and start with at least 3-5 different ads to see what performs best and optimize from there.

Hope this helps!
