Sender email showing shopify email address

Sender email showing shopify email address

Hi, we've verified our domain and everything seems to be running fine, but our marketing emails are coming from a shopify email address, not the email address we've put as "sender email" in Notifications. We don't have any prompts to verify our domain, and it's not a gmail account or anything -- it's a domain hosted by shopify.

Please can someone assist with this? It'd be great if customers received our marketing emails from an official email address for our company.

@DevilJin  Ensure that your marketing emails are sent from your designated sender email address, you need to set up your email authentication properly in your Shopify admin. Go to Settings > Domains and verify your domain. Then, set up email authentication by adding the necessary DNS records provided by Shopify to your domain's DNS settings. This will authenticate your domain and allow Shopify to send emails on behalf of your domain. Once authenticated, your marketing emails should be sent from your designated sender email address.

Thanks for your reply. In your email you said "Go to Settings > Domains and verify your domain." – I'm pretty sure I've done this. As the website is running fine and emails are being sent/received with no problem. Can you confirm I'm correct in thinking our domain is verified?
Also, you said "Then, set up email authentication by adding the necessary DNS records provided by Shopify to your domain's DNS settings." – I also did this in order to set up the emails. Is there something I should be looking for?

@DevilJin  If your website is running fine and emails are being sent and received without issues, it's likely that your domain is verified. To confirm, you can check the "Domains" section in your Shopify admin to see if your domain is listed as verified. Regarding email authentication, if you've added the necessary DNS records provided by Shopify to your domain's DNS settings, you should be all set. You can double-check by reviewing the DNS records in your domain's settings to ensure they match the ones provided by Shopify.

Hi @DevilJin

Have you authenticated and added a DMARC record to your custom sending domain? If you haven't, you would have to set up those, or Shopify will keep automatically changing your Sending Domain into a Shopify email address to meet G-mail deliverability minimum requirements.

To solve this issue, you need to edit your sender details.
In your Flows/Campaign emails, you will find an option
- "Subject and Sender"
- "Edit Sender's details"
- Put your domain email address there and you are good to go!

You need to do it manually for every email.

But there is a shortcut,
- Go to your ESP settings,
- Account and
- You will find an option to set your email
