Shooting into own knee with Google Customer Reviews ?

New Brand, new Shopify store ... and preparations are going being connected now with Google's Universe (via Google & Youtube app):

- Merchant Center ( listing in Google Shopping ) ... verified.
- Search Console ... pages indexed.
- Analytics ... integrated, working seamingless.
- Tag Manager ... connected, but no tag yet programmed
- Google Business profile ... after first verification, within few weeks "suspended" because of "no reasons" (as we are a fully registered and legal company and the whole shop follows strictly EU law).

Since 2 months we work hard to fulfill the insane demands from the monopolist Google via Merchant Center to be listed in Google shopping. All 370 products with 4,170 variants are in Merchant Center via Google & Youtube app. - By manual corrections now 4,040 got "green flag".

Yet, our Google Business profile is still suspended unexpected, after we contacted the Google Support team. Hint: We are a fully registered company in Europe, with certification for our business model, with VAT/Tax number. Therefore we also have an official office address. And we fulfill all obligations legally and technically on the website (data privacy, cookies, return policy etc. ...), approved by lawyer.

As we like to run a shopify store for "POD" (print on demand) and more to come, Google advices us as critics, to integrate also its "Customer Review".

There are different independent platforms, all front TrustPilot or specifically for the European market certifications (e.g. TrustMark and many more).

As we experience a very negative treatment by Google's Team and its arrogance and ignorance - e.g. our direct communication with the support team has not lead to any concrete solution since 2 months - the question pops up:

Do we shoot into our own knee if we connect "Google Cusotmer Reviews" (more details on Google's website here) ???

We have no problem with to get customer reviews, we see this as an instrument of customer relationship and as feedback for developing higher quality standards. So generally such functional integration as marketing instrument and for R&D is highly welcome.

Yet, the dependency on Google is already extreme high (see upper features) and unluckily increases daily with Google's gnerative A.I. - With a Shopify app for customer reviews like Trust Sync. - being developed for different platforms beside Google (e.g. Amazon, TrustedShop.com and many more) - we'd feel more independent and flexible.

What are your experiences with Google Customer Reviews ?
What if we are not satisfied, and like to disconnect ? Will this mean, that Google then bans the whole shop ?
Is it better to exclude Google Customer Reviews and look for alternatives ? - If so, which platform or certificate do you recommend ?

(Rec.: Alone in Germany exist many different certificates for the label "trustworthy online shop".
