Shopify Email Happy Birthday mail option?

Hi,

 

Since I'm still unable to download the Shopify Email app in the Netherlands I wonder if it will be possible to collect the customers birthday to send them an Happy Birthday mail with voucher or so.

I really wonder why Shopify doesn't collect the birthday from users since it's  very handy to have for multiple reasons.

That's awesome that you'd like to send birthday wishes and a discount code to your customers! What a thoughtful gesture. You're right, this isn't something that you can do in Shopify natively but you can by using a third-party app.

 

A few apps that I found with this capability are:

 

 

The last two mentioned here are actually a loyalty rewards program you can offer your customers. These apps will collect customer's birthday information and offer them loyalty points that can be redeemed for discounts.

Hi Dani,

 

Thanks for your quick response. I currently installed Loyalty Lion however the problem with all the apps is, is that most app add up a lot of spendings monthly and that's fine for some, but something like a birthday email shouldn't be something to pay for I think, especially now Shopify is having there own e-mail platform available soon.

Well, I originally wanted to open my online webshop and boutique store the 1st of may but due to corona I unfortunately have to reschedule everything to september. Further everything is getting better week by week and hopefully will be back to 'normal' within some weeks/months. Stores are opening up again but bars, restaurants, clubs etc are still closed so not a lot of people in the shopping streets.

Can't wait to use Shopify E-mail. Hopefully it will be available soon in NL

I'm happy you were able to find a solution in Loyalty Lion. I definitely appreciate the feedback you've given and will pass this along to our Product team to review.

 

I hope Shopify Email will be available in NL soon too! We're working on consistently expanding our availability to make as many features available for as many merchants as possible. We'll continue to keep you updated with Shopify Email, as well as other product updates, through email. 

 

I'm glad to hear things are starting to return to 'normal' in your area! It's similar in Canada as well. Have you thought about opening up your online store sooner than later? It may be a great way to start generating attraction to your store before opening up your boutique store in September. We're seeing a lot of people are choosing to purchase online at this time. Also, Social Media Marketing is relatively cheap right now and very successful since many large brands have pulled their campaigns.
