Shopify Email Preview

Hello,

I have a question regarding marketing emails sent via Shopify. Is there a way to control or hide the preview text that shows up when a customer receives the email?

Sometimes I want to keep an element of intrigue so the recipient is encouraged to open the email, but currently, all the key information is visible in the preview.

Is there any way to customize or suppress that preview text?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Roxy

Hello there @Roxolana  Depending on what app you use to help in sending the mails, I believe you’d be able to find it in the settings section. I think you’d also be able to find some helpful information here as well https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/fulfillment/setup/notifications/customizing-notification-template

unfortunately,  you cannot control what the email providers (yahoo, gmail, etc) do to display previews

Hi @Roxolana

i don't think hiding previewing text is a good idea.

1、Spam risk:
Email providers like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo are increasingly strict. Hiding preview content using empty spans or zero-width characters can trigger spam filters. Your email might land in the Promotions or even Spam folder — especially if you're also using lots of images or salesy language.

2、Lost engagement:
The preview text is a valuable tool to increase open rates. If you leave it blank or hide it, you're missing the chance to hook the reader with a short, well-written teaser.
