My website: https://teemania.co/
Hello, I have a graphic t-shirt website and I've noticed numerous inconsistencies regarding my SEO and what pops up when I search for my website on Google. I understand that every Google experience is different (based on location, etc.), but I have changed my search engine listing for multiple collections and the title will STILL not change to what I want it to display. Is there something incorrect within my sitemap? Not really too sure how to get this problem figured out. I attached some images below of what I edited the SEO to be and what it appears as on Google.
Hi there,
Google usually takes a bit of time to crawl any changes you’ve made to your SEO title or description. If you’ve made significant updates to specific pages (like titles and meta descriptions), you can request a re-index through Google Search Console. Use the URL Inspection tool to check out the URL and then request indexing (though this might take up to a week or two, it’s usually quicker).
Also, it’s a good idea to look for crawl errors on Search Console. Check out the "coverage" report to see if Google has encountered any issues accessing parts of your website. This report will also let you know if any page(s) are being excluded from indexing.
If these steps don’t fix things, you can check your sitemap and resubmit it if necessary.
Verify Your Sitemap in Shopify: Shopify automatically creates a sitemap for your store that lists all your products, product images, pages, collections, and blog posts. You can find your sitemap at yourstore.com/sitemap.xml. Make sure this link works and that the sitemap is up-to-date with all the pages you want indexed.
Submit or Resubmit Your Sitemap in Google Search Console:
I hope this info is useful.
If you still face issue, you can message me in the email given below.
The metadata that search engine crawlers update once the page is updated and requested to reindex using Search Console. If the data is not updating check your sitemap and frequency of crawling.
Custom meta description is not that much important nowadays. Because crawlers pull custom data from that page with different variations of search queries. However, the use of related keywords in the meta description can be helpful in some cases.
Here are two types of sitemaps you can enable on your store:
1. XML Sitemap (enabled through Google Search Console)
2. HTML Sitemap (enabled using a custom HTML page that includes all the website URLs and can be added in the footer section)
To show the updated content of your store in SERP, fix the indexing issues of your pages.
