First of all, which markets you should focus on depends on your niche. As for the digital marketing side of things, upkeeping a social media presence will probably prove insufficient. So, consider joining or creating a community where you can contribute and also get help with link-building and guest posting. Influencer marketing is definitely an option, though you need to pick the right moment for it to be worthwhile ROI-wise. Either way, you'll have to post scannable and optimized content to drive organic traffic. 

As for automation, there are many tools you can use but they are not free. So, consider your needs and choose the right (read: affordable) package to get you started.
