Should I add the product barcode / GTIN to packs of the same product?

Hi there, I've been using google ads for a while and I've always set my packs of products to "custom product", however, I wondered if anyone knew if I should add the barcode of the single product to the pack of products as google is still coming up with the "Limited performance due to missing value [gtin]. Add your product's globally valid GTIN" error. So for instance, I have a barcode of 5027535002618 for this single football:

I also sell them in packs of 10: https://childrensfootball.com/products/bag-of-10-footballs-size-3-4-or-5-with-free-bag

Should I add the 5027535002618 barcode to this product variant too?

In your case, since you're selling packs of products that include individual items with their own barcodes, it's advisable to include the GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) for each individual product variant, even if it's part of a pack.

Including the GTIN for each product variant helps Google Ads accurately identify and categorize your products, which can improve the performance of your ads and ensure compliance with Google's requirements.

For your pack of 10 footballs, if each football within the pack has its own unique barcode, I recommend adding the GTIN for each individual football variant to the product data for the pack of 10 footballs. This will provide Google with the necessary information to match the product variants correctly and reduce the likelihood of encountering the "Limited performance due to missing value [gtin]" error.

You can typically include the GTIN for each variant in the product data feed that you submit to Google Merchant Center. Ensure that the GTINs are accurate and correspond to the individual products included in the pack.

By providing the GTINs for each product variant, you can help improve the visibility and performance of your ads while ensuring accurate product identification for your customers.

Yes, you should add the barcode of the single product to the pack of products in Google Ads. This will help resolve the "Limited performance due to missing value [gtin]" error, ensuring proper identification of your products, such as the football with the barcode 5027535002618.

No. You cannot use the same GTIN for the individual product and a pack of 10. Every product and variant must have a unique product identifier (GTIN or MPN) unless it is a custom-made product, which this is not.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The 10 footballs all have the same SKU / Barcode so I can add the barcode in. There's a lot of conflicting answers to this question, so I guess it's a grey area. Thanks for the help, I'm going to give this a try!
