SMS awaiting confirmation

Hi all 

Hoping someone can help me out on this one. 

We have Klaviyo integrated with Shoepify for notifications etc and we are trying to set up SMS. I have updated TOS and Privacy Policies and made the SMS check box active in Shopify at checkout. 
If the SMS authority is given when they tick the check box, then isn't that an automatic yes to marketing?
Why is the "SMS awaiting confirmation"?  I presume if this is occurring I am guessing that they are then receiving an automated message from Shopify that they have to click?  

I have tried to test the theory and I am not getting any notifications after I have checked out, and the status still shows SMS awaiting confirmation, even though Klaviyo shows me as subscribed to SMS. I am utterly confused.

When you enable SMS marketing in Shopify and your customers tick the check box for SMS authorization during checkout, it means that they are giving you permission to send them marketing SMS messages.

However, Shopify also has a feature where the customer needs to confirm their subscription by clicking a link in an SMS message that they receive after checkout. The "SMS awaiting confirmation" status indicates that the customer has not yet confirmed their subscription.

If you are not receiving any SMS notifications after checkout and the status still shows as "SMS awaiting confirmation", there could be a few reasons for this:

• Incorrect configuration of your SMS marketing settings in Klaviyo
• Technical issue with the integration between Klaviyo and Shopify
• The customer may have not received the confirmation SMS due to a technical issue or incorrect phone number provided at checkout.

It would be best to reach out to Klaviyo support for assistance in resolving this issue.
