you can add keywords in title of the page (home page or your targeted page)

you will get title and description option in backend if the site is developed dynamic.

So take the help of any developer friend or you can PM me to know more.

Hi, @Mad_Modeler

Not a stupid question at all! There are a number of things you can do to increase your SEO, including adding the keywords to your site.  Have you thought of what your top 5 keywords will be? If not, this is a great blog to take a look at, which goes over the details of getting your keywords - you can check that out here.

Once you know what those keywords will be, you can add them to your site. Right from within your Shopify admin, you can add these to the meta descriptions of your products, collections, pages, and more - for example, if you navigate to Products > select a product > scroll down to Search engine listing preview > select Edit website SEO > add your keywords. You will want those to be full, complete sentences, but containing those keywords. For full steps on doing this, check out this help doc. Here are some additional tips to increase your SEO:

I've done a great deal of what is listed there, [it was a painfully long task working with the CSV file].

However I'm not sure how to add WHERE the shop is to get it picked up for searches like "Model Shops In Hampshire"

How do I add that, and where ?

Hi, @Mad_Modeler

Thank you for your response. If you'd like your shop to come up when people search those words, you'll need to add those keywords using the instructions above. This help doc walks you through adding those in the different parts of your Shopify admin - you'll need to add those keywords to those varied sections if you'd like those words to bring up your store as a search result. Once you've added them, you can submit your sitemap to Google so that the search engine crawls those updated keywords from the meta data. Hope this helps!

Hi @Mad_Modeler

I think it's not a stupid question. There are a number of things you can do to increase your SEO, including adding the keywords to your site, add alt text to theme image (Because this action will make Google know better about your store)

Beside those, you also should do these thing below:

+ Optimize page speed. (Because if a page with slow loading is not only making bad experience to customer but Google will also not like your website)

+ Optimze images before uploading them into your store.

+ Build high-quality content ( because Google wants to offer the best-qualified website to the user)

To optimize your store and boost sales, you can go to https://avada.io/shopify/docs/. This is a complete guide for people who do online business with Shopify.

My recommendation for you is to make a blog. When you make a blog use this targeted keyword and write good article around 1200 words long.

Then you build some social signals to it and links with the targeted keyword and you will get some results. This is not simple you can use tool to research keyword difficulty and it's totally free https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/

for more information about keywords reed article https://www.seocompetitors.com/what-is-keyword-research/

I think this will help

Hello,

Adding to @Brie's excellent comments. Better optimize your product URLs by avoiding duplicate words and use of "and", "or".

Submit your store content regularly to major search engines with help SEO Apps such as flare.

Hope this was helpful.

Not a stupid question at all but SEO is really too complex to do overnight.

If you are serious about what you are doing, I would recommend getting some professional help. If you are just running your website for fun, keep going because SEO is also so much fun.

While working on your SEO do not forget the key is "uniqueness". Never copy/paste anything.

Read this article first so you will know if you need an SEO specialist or you can handle this on your own.
