System users can not have duplicate names. Facebook & Instagram sales channel.

Hi,

 

It appears a bug trying to connect my Shopify store and Facebook & Instagram sales channel. I've been in contact with Facebook support but they don't even know how this can be solved.

 

Does anyone had the same issue (or similar) and find out how to solve it?

Hello there 

1. Clear your cache: Sometimes clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve connectivity issues. Try clearing your cache and cookies, then try connecting to the Facebook & Instagram sales channel again.

  1. Check your connection settings: Double-check that your store's connection settings for the Facebook & Instagram sales channel are properly configured. You can check your connection settings by going to Settings > Sales Channels > Facebook > Connect Account.

  2. Check your Facebook page settings: Make sure that your Facebook page is properly set up and connected to your Facebook account. You can check your Facebook page settings by logging into your Facebook account and going to your page's settings.

  3. Contact Shopify support: If you've tried the above steps and are still experiencing issues, reach out to Shopify support for further assistance. They can help diagnose the issue and provide guidance on how to resolve it.

The Meta team didn’t have an answer for me either but I figured it out on my own! The meta business page has to be named different from your business account in order for it to work.

Hi Akorb,
You literally have to log into Facebook and name your manager and ad accounts differently.

For example: if the Business Manager is named “Akorb Inc”, the ad account cannot be named the same. Instead, it has to be titled something different like “My Business”. I hope this helps, let me know!

Still the same error, I already request support but facebook say is not at their end and Shopify is almost impossible to get some assistance.

Oh no, Shopify’s support team is pretty good at answering quickly via live chat (you have to request to speak with a rep)… but it’s definitely a Facebook issue! Maybe try deleting the app and downloading again. Best of luck with this!

Has anyone solved this issue?  I have been fighting the same thing for several days.  Shopify says its a meta issue, meta says its a shopify issue.  I have tried everything above and no luck- same message

Solved it (at least on my account) - I had to delete my existing shopify cart in fb commerce manager.  This is the "duplicate" the system was referring to.  Once i did this and refreshed the page, I was able to complete the set up in the shopify/fb ap.

did you mean shopify catalog? tried disconnecting everything and still has the error, i dont have any system users so not sure how it would duplicate. i can clear cache and attempt but i dont want to wait another 24 hours to even have the ability to attempt. its infuriating.

so i deleted everything in my commerce account under my business manager, insta and facebok page still connected in business manager.

 

I just now went into business settings for my business manager, then went to intergrations, then connected apps, and deleted shopify. i will report back to see if it worked in case someone needs this fixed in the future

update, IT WORKED! what i also did before attempting was clearing cache in all my google accounts, and after that, when it asks to sign into facebook in the facebook and instagram app i used personal account to sign in and it worked.
