Tracking visits from a specific marketing tool

I have a Royaltie Gem and I want to track how many visits come from that marketing tool. I have looked at a couple different ways like goo.gl, google analytics.  But I wanted to see if anyone has any idea like a referral type of link, etc.

Not sure if I understand your question here Randall. You first wrote that you'd like to track the visits - which can be done through goo.gl or bit.ly.

But then you mentioned "referral type of link"? What exactly does that mean?

Sorry I am just looking for a url tracking app where I can create a unique url for my website then plug that into my gem to transmit. This way I can see who click on that particular link.
