Unable to get conversions working on checkout

1 0 0

I've added the google tag on theme.liquid and checkout order status page additional scripts, additionally I've added the event snippet right below the tag in the additional script section.  However, even though the tag is tracked on all the pages, it is not tracked on the checkout pages and I'm not sure why.  Can someone please help with this issue?

there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Double-check your conversion tracking setup: Ensure that you have correctly implemented the conversion tracking code or pixel on your checkout page. Review the documentation or instructions provided by the advertising platform or analytics tool you're using to track conversions. Make sure the tracking code is placed in the appropriate location on your checkout page and that it is firing correctly.

  2. Test your tracking code: Use tools provided by the advertising platform or analytics tool to test if the tracking code is working as expected. They often offer debugging or testing features that allow you to simulate conversions or check if the tracking code is properly installed. This will help you identify any issues with the code itself.

  3. Check for errors or conflicts: Inspect the developer console of your website for any errors that might be preventing the conversion tracking from working properly. Look for JavaScript errors or conflicts with other scripts or plugins on your checkout page that could be interfering with the tracking code. Resolve any identified issues to ensure smooth operation.

  4. Verify redirections or pop-up blockers: If your checkout process involves redirections to external payment gateways or if you have pop-ups during the checkout process, check if these elements are causing any interference with the conversion tracking. Some browsers or extensions might block pop-ups or prevent certain redirects, which can impact conversion tracking. Test your checkout process in different browsers or devices to identify any such issues.

  5. Analyze traffic sources: Examine the traffic sources that lead to your checkout page. If you're experiencing low conversion rates or no conversions at all, it could be due to low-quality traffic or irrelevant targeting. Review your advertising campaigns, keywords, audience targeting, or other traffic sources to ensure you're driving the right audience to your checkout page.

  6. Reach out to support: If you've gone through the above steps and are still unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to the support team of the advertising platform or analytics tool you're using. They can provide you with specific troubleshooting steps or help you identify any platform-specific issues that might be affecting conversions.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the problem with conversions not working on your checkout page.
