Very low conversion rate is it the website/product page?

Hello ,

I have had a website for some time now. I get decent traffic but the conversion rate is pretty low.

I have few reviews , product page looks decent .

Not sure how can I improve it?

Any guideline is appreciated.

Few things I think I could improve is - making photos size consistant - right now its random - is there a tool which can be used? Currently I manually crop using Shopify edit.

Adding an average Product rating near the product title - not sure how to achieve this.

Thanks.

Mr.TrendyTreasures here I had the same problem and I notice that I got more conversions with my ads being more professional go to videogen and it generates text, audio and videos that are professional for free. Guarantee less then 30 min you will have conversions hope this helps.

Hi Shellyj,

This is Ellie. Here are few things you can try on your store to improve the conversion rate:

1. Making photos size consistent:

You can manually edit using Shopify if there aren’t too many photos. Once you need to automate the process, consider using Pixc: Photo Resize

or Hextom: Bulk Image Edit. I just checked, both offer free plan.

2. Adding product rating:

Adding product ratings, reviews on your products can enhance your credibility. Tools like Judge.me or Stamped are excellent for gathering, displaying reviews and also offer free plans.

3. Improve your site speed

I usually use PageSpeed Insights to analyze and enhance website's loading times, and it's great since it points out what you need to do to improve the speed. A store that loads fast on both mobile & desktop can provide better user experience for visitors.

4. Improve your checkout process

Simplify your checkout process to reduce cart abandonment. Make the checkout steps as quick as possible and minimize friction for customers at checkout. You can try using the cart drawer (usually enabled in Themes) or a Buy Now button (also found in themes, which skips the cart page and goes directly to checkout) to streamline purchases.

5. Improve CTAs

Make sure your CTA buttons are visible and compelling. They should stand out in your store and encourage visitors to take action.

6. Mobile optimization

Most shoppers now use their smartphones to make purchases. Ensure your site is responsive, and check that navigation is easy, text is readable, and interactions are intuitive on small screens.

7. Special offers and promotions

Motivate the customers and create urgency with special and limited offers. You can first started with Shopify Discounts.

Good luck with the business 🤙 Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi @shellyj,

My name is Ellie. Here are my app recommendations for your needs, please have a look. They are all great apps with great ratings, and all offer a free plan.

For better images, try using:

- Hextom Bulk Edit: https://apps.shopify.com/bulk-image-edit

- Pixc: https://apps.shopify.com/photo-resize-by-pixc

For rating in product pages, try:

- Judgeme: https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme

- Stamped: https://apps.shopify.com/product-reviews-addon

Also, try to optimize your page speed using Google PageSpeed Insights, enhance your store navigation on both mobile & desktop and make sure that your CTAs are compelling to visitors. Trying motivate the customers using some discounts or offers can be effective too.

Hope this helps!

Conversion rate is the biggest challenge for most Shopify store owners. You can perform CRO using built-in Shopify apps and ConvertMate is one example of it.

Here are two types of product images that hurt your user experience.

  • High-resolution and oversized images that take so much time to load pages
  • Blurry, low-resolution images

ConvertMate helps you improve the resolution and size of your product images for a better user experience for visitors and search engines.

The more actions that can improve your conversion rate include:

  • Catchy titles with detailed product descriptions
  • Fair pricing
  • Easy checkout
  • Refund/Returns clarity
  • Product reviews from existing customers
  • Discounts and exclusive offers

Shopify SEO can earn you quality traffic from searches with buying intent. Find such keywords using ConvertMate and optimize them in your product pages to improve your position in SERP.

Hello,

I can also offer a perspective, of course, from our area of expertise (Datma being a product analytics and reporting app). A good understanding of your product offering and how your potential customers (visitors) are interacting with it can also help. Data points like: which products are generating views and add to carts, which products have low (or high) conversion or abandonment rates. All this visibility helps you to be able to take actions in improving the product offer, the pricing or other factors that in the end would result in an improved overall conversion rate and more sales.

Look at a demo (no signup needed) to have a better impression about what kind of measurements I have in mind:  https://demo.datma.io/shopify/reporting/metrics/1416 - this a direct link to a reports with all products with conversions, add to carts, abandonment rates. You can click around to see what else is there.

Best,

Peter @ Datma
