Website display in Google

Hey, hoping someone can help me.

When I check how my site displays on google (by entering site:solidwoodwarehouse.co.uk) into the Google Search, a lot of the page titles show "Skip to content Just added to your cart Qty: View cart" instead of the page or product title - this doesn't happen for all pages or all products but it is happening for the vast majority. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thank you in advance.

Hey, @JBrown2

I notice them too. They appear to be primarily collection pages or inner pages that you have created. There are two things we'll want to do:

1. We will want to check the title and meta description for these pages. We have a guide here that shows you how to do this by using the 'Edit Website SEO' feature that can be found in your admin on any collection, product, or page that you are making changes to.

Some of the pages/collections showing 'Skip to content Just added to your cart Qty': benches collectioncabinets collectionchairs collection

2. Once you have confirmed that these page titles and meta descriptions are correct (since this is the info search engines pull from when indexing your pages in their listings), you will want to submit a sitemap to Google. This will prompt Google to re-crawl through your website to update their listings in their search engine from your website. We have a guide on finding and submitting sitemaps here

The process can take time and Google doesn't guarantee how long it takes for your store to be crawled. To learn more or to troubleshoot, visit Google Search Console Help.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Hi, thanks for your response. I have checked all of the page titles and meta descriptions and they're all correct, so unfortunately that isn't the issue.

I have looked at the source code for the individual pages and in the <head> tags there is a bit of code which is causing the problem

class="in-page-link visually-hidden skip-linkhref="#MainContent" Skip to content</a>

I have no idea why this code is there, and I have no idea how to remove it!

Please could someone help with any suggestions?

If you'd like to view the code for yourselves one of the pages is https://www.solidwoodwarehouse.co.uk/collections/writing-desks
