Hi @ed31,
This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder App.
For most Shopify stores, a hybrid approach using both Shopify marketing apps and Google Ads is often the best option. You can benefit from the ease of use and Shopify focus of apps while reaching a wider audience through Google Ads.
Here are some key points for you:
For analytics, use both Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics. Shopify Analytics provides valuable insights into store performance, while Google Analytics gives you a broader view of user behavior across platforms.
Hope this helps!
Please let me know if it works by giving it a Like or marking it as a solution!

Hi @ed31
For marketing, you can try these apps besides running Google ads: ReConvert (upsell & cross-sell), Smile.io (loyalty program), Tido (live chat) and Avada Email Marketing & SMS.
For analytics, I recommend using TrueProfit alongside Google Analytics. The app will allow you to sync data from your ad channels, shipping platforms and Shopify dashboard to calculate your exact net profit, ROAS, etc. in real time.
I hope that this helps!

Hi @ed31,
About marketing loyalty program, you can take Loloyal: Loyalty & Referral into consideration. It includes Points, Rewards, Referrals programs, VIP tiers (membership), and more loyalty programs, which work seamlessly together to help you boost customer retention rate and lifetime value. Pricing structure is set based on store orders, which is low-cost and high-efficiency.
Other marketing app recommendation:
Klaviyo: Power smarter digital relationships with marketing automation fueled by all of your data. (integrated with Loloyal)
EcomSend Pop Ups, Email Popups: Grow your email & SMS marketing list with opt‑in or spin wheel popups to boost your sales. (Free)
And other cross-sell & upsell apps.
Hope it helps!
Hi @ed31 ,
Some apps you can try for marketing are Klaviyo, WyseMe, Privy Popups.
Many store owners find it beneficial to use both Shopify's built-in analytics and Google Analytics in tandem. This way, you can leverage the strengths of each platform to gain a deeper understanding of your store's performance and make informed decisions about your marketing strategies.
Along with this, you can get an even deeper understanding of your store by collecting product specific data such as:
- a products conversion rate at price A
- a products conversion rate at price B
This data is priceless 😉 as you will be able to find your most ideal pricing.
If this interests you, get Crowly! With our free plan you can automate A/B testing pricing and descriptions for your products all while collecting data for each.

Hi Ed!
Take a look at: https://demo.datma.io/shopify/reporting/ , free demo, no registration needed.
If you need an analytics app that is tailored to Shopify - meaning that it has a great focus on products, types, vendors and collections and combines data from web tracking with shopify data this could be it.
Best,
Peter @ Datma
For marketing, apps like Klaviyo for email automation or PushOwl for push notifications can be great for Shopify. As for analytics, Google Analytics is a must for deep insights, but Shopify’s built-in analytics can give you a quick snapshot of performance. I’ve also found that using UnblockedBrands for push notifications provides additional engagement data, which has been helpful for marketing analysis.
Hey Ed31,
Heddy from Gameball: Loyalty Program & VIP here!
For marketing, both Shopify apps and Google Ads can be effective depending on what you're after. Shopify’s built-in options like Google Shopping or Klaviyo are simple and well-integrated, while running ads directly from Google gives more control. As for analytics, Google Analytics is much more comprehensive compared to Shopify’s built-in tools.
You might also consider a loyalty app! Gameball stands out because it’s not just a loyalty app—it also integrates gamification and customer segmentation, allowing you to reward specific behaviors like purchases, referrals, or even social media actions. What makes it different is the depth of customization, where you can create tiered rewards, personalized experiences, and even challenges for your customers. Plus, Gameball’s advanced analytics let you track customer activity in detail, making it easier to drive engagement and retention compared to other loyalty apps. (Bonus: there's a free plan available)
