You've missed a big one on your list though: PBN's or Private Blog Networks.
I don't think it's as simple as saying "don't do it". This is one area of SEO where it comes down to personal comfort level, risk tolerance, commercial sensitivity and technical skill/ability avoid negative repercussions.
I know a guy who's paid off multiple mortgages through black-hat SEO. On the other hand I know of entire SEO agencies that have been destroyed through a combination of black-hat SEO an unannounced Google update, and just plain bad luck.
I've had good success without doing any black-hat SEO it so far in my career and personal projects. But to each their own 🙂
Just create unique valuable content like blogs, youtube channels, and link back to your store. This is the best SEO strategy but very few merchants are willing to work on it.
